What makes a good Rave?
Ok, I was thinking about a few things mentioned about Spooky; People liked the mini stage to dance on, you could pretty much get away with smoking inside, lineup was pretty quick, massive venue, good music. So these are pretty general things, and sure they definatly make the Rave better.
My questions are, what makes a Rave good? If all good factors are there, would it be one of the great ones? What makes a bad Rave? Lets try to not trash any events specifically please :) .mYles

It's about the peeps. If you have great people with you, even the worst dj can be great. That's all you ready need.
Other than that the following are things that would be greatly appreciated for a "good" rave: -dance floor is roomy, but not so big that the party looks dead -a quality dj/mc -air flow (cool enough that you don't sweat, but your not nippy) -hot chicks -hot chicks who can dance -a battle circle -no liquid dancers -no ppl swinging glow sticks on string -did I say hot chicks? -ppl who can dance (i love to watch and learn new moves) `t1m

Personally, i think good dancing floor(not carpet/sand...ext), good ventalation in the rooms and BATHROOMS(but not freezing), and everyone in a good mood! OH and not tripping over water bottles and ummm really high people in the middle of the dance floor, passed out...(wake up....its a rave...loud music....lotsa moving people)....dumb drugs haha!

good dance floor for sure..........bathrooms are a must, area for smokers (YES I am one!!!!), good music, air control is important....we all HATE to be too cold, but also don't want to eb too hot.
As long as there is good people we are ready to go!

Chill rooms=deece party.
No chill rooms=un-deece party. This does NOT mean a second room playing something different from the main room. I mean an inside area that one can give their feet and ears a breather on comfy couches and engage in discussion with a bunch of PLURry high people about the story of creation or the fourth Star Wars film without having to scream your larynx into a useless flap of organic matter. Music does not have to be present, either. Sadly, most chill rooms seem to develop only in a smoke pit, car, or bathroom as it is the only refuges from the main stages. Anyhow, that's what I'd constitute as a great party. Everything else that's goes on at raves I've just come to expect and enjoy irregardless. A proper chill room would just elevate it to the Nth degree. Ah, well. There's still the outdoor parties, with a chill room inside any given tent. :smoke1:

- a wide variety of lasers, and many of them I may add
- A dance floor thats no too slippery ( I like carpet) - A big venue (not too big that you cant find anyone*ahem spooky ahem*) - The little stages to dance on - Stages that allow you to see the dj when at the front - A venue with Heat (unlike spooky) - music in rooms ( not sheets dividing a big space) - being allowed to bring in glowsticks - a big smoke pit - many garabages throughout the venue ( I sware I couldnt find a garbage at spooky) Yea, all these would be factors of an awsome rave! - definately cheap water (concession)

that's easy...friendly vibe...one where i look around the room and see pure joy...the unity of an event when i look around and see love...jungle is playing that is soulful, dark and i can feel the bass in my womb...the venue isn't super ritzy either...and someone says: Who's ready to r-a-v-e? oh, and an absence of middle aged men cracked out trying to pick up 16 year olds or interpretive dance....
and some tears of joy must be shed! p.s if my favourite twins from hongkong show up total bonus points! oh, and a bad rave is one where everyone is sketchy, stressing and pushy

Space to dance.
Feeling comfortable starting up a conversation with anyone there without getting attitude. Being able to battle. Friendly people...no bad attitudes. A place to sit Space to dance. Running water. A working bathroom. Space to dance. No one lying in the center of the dancefloor. Some kandykids, some junglists, some breakers, some flailers, some newbs and some oldskoolers... Oh and... Space to dance... <--I should never have to bring this sign to a party...
