I was JUST watching the show e-love (11:30pm on the wtn GO WOMEN'S NETWORK!) and this question came to mind. Being a member of this message board and I'm sure that some of you've formed friendships and perhaps even intimate relationships online..

The question is,

Would you or perhaps have you pursued a relationship online? Why, or Why not?
Do you think that this is an effective and reliable method to form relationships? (ie. security issues)
Horror stories?
Success stories?
thoughts?

if none of the above apply, would ever consider just MEETING some one offline?

i don't know if i would, but a friend of mine back home met a girl on that lava life thing. she turned out to be really hot, and they have been together for almost a year.

i think it would be pretty damn odd to do, but whatever it takes i guess.

Perhaps the better question would have been " RELATIONSHIP THAT DEVELOPED VIA THE INTERNET"... Here's an example of what I was thinkin of:

A GIRL ON FNK PUTS UP VARIOUS attractive pictures of herself. MEN/WOMEN GAWK AT HER PICTURE AND START PM-ING her "YOU SEEM LIKE A NICE GIRL" (translation: YOU HAVE A NICE RACK) and then you're all like "DO YOU HAVE MSN"?

And then you start talking to her on msn, and you both start talking about meeting up at the next rave/go out for coffee sometime. You meet up at the next rave party/starbucks and something sparks!

Doesn't that consist of internet dating?

I had a girl bring me on a very well-known television talk show to tell me she was my secret admirer. The girl was from the internet.

All my friends laughed at me when the show aired (this was in the year 2000). Now all my friends are meeting people from the internet. It's funny ...cause I consider myself a pioneer LOL
