Family wakes up to gun pointing at them

Four people - including a 17-year-old-girl - were arrested early Thursday morning after apparently breaking into the wrong house while looking for a marijuana grow operation.

One person pointed a gun at one of the terrified family members inside.

Police say the four suspects entered in the house on 188B Street in Pitt Meadows, which is actually home to a family of three and not a grow operation.

Const. Shelly Jacobsen, spokesperson for the Ridge Meadows RCMP, said one suspect pointed the handgun at one member of the family and wanted to know where the drugs were.

No one in the home was injured and police confirmed Thursday there were no drugs in the house and no one living there is involved in criminal activity.

After realizing they were in the wrong house the suspects, who are all from Maple Ridge, fled the scene in a vehicle but were pulled over by police shortly after in the 11300-block of Maple Crescent, and then arrested.

After working through the night assembling their case, RCMP investigators recommended charges of break and enter, and possession of a weapon be laid against Ian Bruce, 18, Andre Omar Steele, 22, Criag Norman Wilding, 22, and the 17-year-old girl who cannot be named because she is a minor.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.'
