"proud to be canadian"
everyone's talking about their pride in canada right now... people are literally crying on the radio. people are ashamed to be canadian, thanks to the recent acts by our prime minister, jean chretian...
george w's speech last nite, didn't include a mention of canada in his "shout outs". i don't blame him. but from what i'm hearing on CKNW radio, people are SICKENED with the whole country. thanks to our prime minister. how do u feel? personally, i am trying to get thru to CKNW, and bitch out every person that called in and bitched out canadian pride. these people are talking about tearing their canadian flags down and putting up the stars and stripes... WHAT THE FUCK? the flag didn't do anything wrong. just 1 french-canadian moron fucked up. i want to say that i'm still canadian. so fuckin' eh! anybody that's ashamed of them being canadian, can kiss my ass. mr. chretian does not represent us all, even if he is the prime minister. so everyone shut the fuck up, write a letter to the president and apologize for the behavoir of your government, but don't fuckin' bash your country. raaaaaa... anyone else listening to this? |

"crooked mouth" didn't say that much... but he didn't show up at the president's speech last nite, cuz he had to go to some stupid fundraiser instead. plus chretian doesn't even plan on visiting the ground zero site in new york... what a jerk...
i sent him an e-mail today. i'm working on a letter to the president right now... i doubt either of them will read it, but whatever... |

what a fuckin' cunt!!
i wanna go to the ground zero site myself actually. kuz i have family who works in the trade building things.. but they're safe. a fundraiser is a lot LESS important than a presidents speach about something that is one of the biggest things that has happened in TONS AND TONS OF YEARS! whut a fucking loose dirty smelly cunt! :Peenutt: |

ehehe that's funny, i was thinkin' of going to new york to see what's going on too... i do have $3000 in my bank account... i don't really have the option to take time off work right now, but fuck it... haah... i wanna see ground zero with my own eyes... i wanna be an old fart 1 day and tell little punk kids that "i was there" i wanna get a fuckin' t-shirt that says "i loved NY until terrorists blew the fuck out of it"
chretian is a retard... we all knew that already. but now he's making our whole country look bad... we should hang him. wouldn't that be a a pretty sight... |

hey I didn't know that.. I haven't really been following the news lately.. i choose not to...
i get info frum my rents, n watch wutever I wanna watch... i dunno... i don't think i'd really be able to blame chretien for his decision though..... i'll elaborate later... no i wont' i'm too lazy.. mr. chretian does not represent us all, even if he is the prime minister. so everyone shut the fuck up, write a letter to the president and apologize for the behavoir of your government, but don't fuckin' bash your country. -bob i agree with u on that though... |

goood point kimmie. we are the US' neighbours and we aren't doing too much.. even britain is giving the states WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more support that we are!
i'd hate to see if the US takes this personally and we get in shit with another country that we need help to resolve and they just don't care.. :Peenutt: |

They can go to hell.
I'm beyond proud to be CANADIAN! I wouldn't change it for the world! Maybe Chretien doesn't want to visit the site because it's too hard for him, and he wouldn't be able to handle it emotionally? I know that for me, personally, I would definitely visit the crash-site, but I wouldn't be EXPECTED to contain my emotions because I'm -female-. Everyone, don't forget that he is CANADA's Prime-Minister, and that the business of Canada and Canadians comes FIRST AND FOREMOST, before that of any other country. So *shrug* Why Chretien has chosen to not visit the crash-site as of yet we don't know, but I'm sure he has his personal reasons. He's only human :| |

I don't think I would have attended Bush's conference either. I wouldn't want to support the American war-effort, either. We're a peaceful country, WE DON'T WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN WAR, maybe Chretien's trying to finally knock that point home. Good Riddance! |

here's a quote i heard on CKNW today, it's not word for word, but i'll do my best...
"it's what best friends do. even if you don't have the time. if your best friend is down, you at least stop by and visit him. you tell him you can only stay for 5 minutes, but u just wanted to let him know that you care about him, and you're here for him." really, that's all it takes. you don't have to show up on the white house doorstep with a contract to offer a million of your men to die for whatever cause they have in mind. canada & the US are without a doubt, the closest countries on the face of the earth. "we're not americans & canadians" as 1 person in new york said, " we're north americans. we're all the same". from a canadian's perspective, the whole thing about jean chretian not showing up at george w's speech, and george w. not giving canada a shout out in his speech, was a big deal... but apparently it's not at serious as some canadians thought. americans are being realistic, there's more important things to worry about right now. the US secretary general, colin powell (sp?), made his own public announcement to the canadian people today. he expressed his gratitude for everything canada has done for the US in the past week, and showed great appreciation for our guestures. i.e. the 100,000 (approx.) canadians that showed up on parlaiment hill to pay their respects to those who died on sept. 11th... the US & canada are still on good grounds. i don't know why people started crying about canada not getting a shout out from george w.... that was really selfish on our part. this isn't a time to be playing favorites. i really wish chretian would get his act together. or at least kill himself and let me represent canadians... i'll do us proud... *walks up to the podium with a can of molson canadian in hand* Last edited by bob; Sep 21, 01 at 10:05 PM. |

It just so happens that the target was in the US. If it happened up here in Canada, I'm sure the Canadians would want their neighborly support. I know a lot of the provinces in Canada have set up funds, and sent in fire fighters, policemen, paramedics, volunteers, blood donations, etc., but to have our Prime Minister wimp out like that was very unsupportive. People may be watching the TV screen, and seeing that it's stating that this is "America's New War", but honestly, this event has shaken a whole nation... young and old. I think Bush is hoping that whole nation is willing to come together and support each other to help fight these attacks of terroism. |

You just miss my point. What I'm saying is that YES, we support the Anti-Terrorism movements now being set up, and YES we will up our security, and YES we feel bad, and YES we are hurt as well. But WAR will only cause MORE problems. Think about it. Bin Laden could easily have something worked out with another group, maybe Saddam Hussein? Then it's only a matter of time until nuclear winter, and we're all dead. War in the past has been terrible, but never have we had the technology to wipe out the ENTIRE human race. Now we do. I find that scary. I find that appalling. I wouldn't fuck with it. |
