Nazi ferries!!!!!

well this is the worst news ive heard all day.....
the ferries are now on strike......there will only be one ferry running between here and van every day......i feel like a trapped animal!!!!
i hope they settle this soon....so many ppl are gonna get screwed for the holidays if they dont....people are gonna have to wait days to get on or off the island....couldnt they wait till after the holidays!! stupid ferry nazi's! :finger:
im glad i dont have a car and just walk on the ferry....but still...i still feel like im seriously stranded on the island now!!! eeek!

Don't feel trapped though. Without a car you should be fine, the worst it can get it 60% service on the big routes.

Don't worry everybody, Gordo's got his 90-day cooling off period up his sleeve, and sooner or later he's gonna legislate the union down because he doesn't a) want to hurt the new corporate structure of BC Ferries and b) have to wait for an extra three hours to get to his home in Kitts from work.

I'd say that Gordo doesn't take the ferry very often. It's more likely that he takes a ride on Taxpayer-Airlines.

I am supposed to go to Victoria for a 2 day seminar and fat chance I am going to wait in a line for hours to chance getting onto a ferry and then not being able to get home without doing the same.

fuck the union, there just pissed off that the NDP isnt in power so they dont get a 20% raise every 4 years. so they like to hold people hostage, i dotn see how this is going to get them any sympathy.

unless they decide to build a bridge to the island the ferries should be classified as a essential service.

^yeah but it does mean there will be that many more people trying to get on the ferry at once... and even without a strike sometimes you have to wait cause there's too many people... imagine it now
