I personally think they found him months ago when they killed his son and raided his house. They just decided to hold off on telling the public they found him....now that its close to being re-election time...SURPIRSE BUSH finds him...

The Americans are dumb. They'll buy it, and re-elect Bush.

As for the CNN comment, anyone who relies soley on the corporate media for the whole side of the story is going to be ignorant to the truth is some regards. These institutions have their own agenda, and it's not a free press.

You will get spinning and biases in literally every form of media, be it independant or corporate...people need to take the time to go through both and then draw their own conclusions (which should be subject to change as more information comes to play)...or better yet...not have an opinion! Not having an opinion may be the healthiest thing a person can do these days, given the amount of fodder we are told to be the facts, or simply not having the time to look into the whole picture.
all media is biased, once information comes form a secondary source it is inherently biased....You emphasize the corporate media as being the most biased, and id have to agree with you, most of the major media cartels, especially CNN, are heavily biased as they are most interested in making money thus they produce "infotainment". However i find many alternative media sources just as biased and faulty as CNN, any reasonal person cannot denie that many alternative news sources are incredibly biased aswell. this is a consequence of the fact that most of these media groups are prosuing their own agendas and these agendas are reflected in their coverage of events. Just look at GNN, that news source is incredibly biased, just as biased as cnn if not more, the only difference from those two sources is their political stance.

P.s hopefully hsi capture will make the americans more credible in the eyes of many iraqis...theyll need the credibilty if they want a chance to fix the mess that they made.

Being biased based on a political stance is not the same as being biased for massive finacial gain. GNN is no where close to CNN when it comes to having a bias to serve a particular agenda. If you actually took a bit of time to read their articles you'd notice that they are from many different sources and if anything the site is just an easy way for people to get information from all over. CNN on the other hand produces the majority of their content and does have the motive of massive profits. The people who run GNN are volunteers...

The Nuremberg Trails were some fucked up times man, it's hard to say what was set in stone, maybe you didn't watch the video?

"Why of course the people don't want war... But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship... Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger."

i cant differentiate between motives..its really a non issuse for me as the point of my post was that all media sources have biases. Personally i think finacial gain is a pretty good reason to haev a biased opinion, but im greedy like that.

Well that is the point though, a good soldier does what they're told. Thinking for yourself is shunned upon, when I was forced into cadets at an early age by my folks I learned this the hard way. People have to stop looking at war through the eyes of counter strike or this planet is doomed.

Isn't this a bit of a contridiction? Just thought I should point it out.
Well of course it's a contradiction (as in: opposition between two conflicting forces or ideas), we're at war! Mind you I thought I tied it in all together with the counter strike reference but allow me to make it perfectly clear.

I'm a pacifist, the first quote is on my ideals and where I want to see society head.

The second quote is about how I see the current stature of society.

With war being life, you can't eliminate war, but rather evolve it's expression; currently with war, the war machine is ruling in the hearts of men by physical exertion rather than mental exertion. I have just simply pointed out that currently the success of the physical exersion is the ruling tenet of war.

...

By not having the opinion I was refering simply to the philosphy of maybe-logic, and maybe I should have reiterated that. The main construct of the philosphy is since everything has a baised, and what we know is simply just our current state of precieving information (the wold is still flat for many people, metaphorically speaking), opinions should be subject to change variably and invariably. Not the_opposite_which is blindly going with what's spoonfed. Thanks for pointing that out though, you may, where some think I am contradicting myself, realize I am simply looking at in more than one angle, unless you already are.

Oh they were all getting along for a while:

HOW CAN THIS NOT MAKE YOU WONDER?

*link may have heavy traffic in the next couple of days so be patient, it's worth it*

...

Rumsfeld met with Saddam Hussein *SEVERAL* times in 1983 and 1984 and was seen here trying to butter up to Saddam Hussein... Oops!

What's even better is that in a August 7, 2002 CBS News Article, he was quoted as saying:

"I don't know of anyone I've talked to in the region who would walk across the street to shake Saddam Hussein's hand."

Oh and by the way, GNN is extremely biased, not to be biased.

"What a pity that Bilbo did not stab that vile creature, when he had a chance!"

"Pity? It was Pity that stayed his hand. Pity, and Mercy: not to strike without need. Be sure that he took so little hurt from the evil, and escaped in the end, because he began his ownership of the Ring so. With Pity."

"I am sorry," said Frodo. "But I am frightened; and I do not feel any pity for Gollum."

"You have not seen him," Gandalf broke in.

"No, and I don't want to," said Frodo. "I can't understand you. Do you mean to say that you, and the Elves, have let him live on after all those horrible deeds? Now at any rate he is as bad as an Orc, and just an enemy. He deserves death."

"Deserves it! I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement."
