It’s what all of you have been waiting for and just in time for the holiday season!!!

After lots of anticipation, the FNK Team is proud to introduce the GRAND OPENING of the “FNK Online Store ”. Now each member has access to a piece of the elite FNK gear. Just click on the “Online Store” on the top of the forums page and feel free to take a look at the items that are up for sale. We have just laid out the basics for now to see what our members enjoy. Each season, we will be adding new items to keep the store interesting.

You will need a major credit card or a money order to purchase an item. The delivery will take approximately 8-10 days from the shipping date and there is small shipping rate of $6 on the first item, and $3 on any additional items.

Just a reminder, all prices are in US dollars, and they have been priced moderately for our members.

May I ask why you sell in USD when you have a .ca domain?

The easiest method for them of course is to do things on plastic. So you can either find a friend who's got a CC or sweet talk your mom or dad for a 1 time use. You also might be able to sweet talk one of the admins and we might do it for you. As for the USD funds...when dealing with a US clothing outlet they expect most of their market to be US based. We priced the garments very fairly so even once you add on the exchange rates and delivery it stills works out to a fair deal. It's unfortunate that Cafepress doesn't have a Canadian division but we're happy they have a solid setup.

Not to be a dink, but why not go with someone local? Wouldn't it cut down on shipping costs and avoid the whole USD/CDN dollar exchange fiasco and give a local business the work?

Oh, and a cool option would be to have your name embroidered on the sleeve. You could wait until you have a whole bunch of folk, then send them off to be done.

Some very valid points indeed, here’s the logic behind the solution.

We researched quite a few local companies and actually had some gear made last year. The quality was good, the workmanship was good but the snags were always with quantity and the cost of screen work. Sometimes there were color restrictions and other times they had a minimum order requirement.

We chose cafepress as a temporary solution because of their expertise in the field. They didn’t have any initial set up costs and they allow us to change our items on the fly without having to pay any additional fees. They also take care of every aspect of the transaction right down to the actual physical delivery of the item. Less fuss, no headaches. It’s a different way to do business but it’s very easy once you’ve tried it. The money order system works fine for anybody who doesn’t have a credit card.

As for profits, we make next to nothing on each sale. It does however, provide our members with a marketplace for fnk clothing/memorabilia. I suspect only the diehard fans of fnk will actually purchase an item on their own, and for that I respect them for putting in the extra effort.

I have considered taking pre-payments from certain members who have no access to a credit card. All the funds can be collected beforehand and the order will arrive in one shipment.

As for having your name embroidered on the sleeve. You can find a lot of local shops that can stitch something on it for you. It’ll probably set you back $5-$10.
