File sharing software?

Just wondering if anyone could tell me a good program to use. In know there is a thread already of this but I cant find it. I just want to find something that is not Kazaa.

IRC licks a nut or two at finding anything rare. There just aren't enough people there.

Soulseek's nice and there's a cross-platform version available too.

^yes i would agree.

I use IRC for more known shit, its good for getting full albums in 1 shot though, i like that. I use it mainly for hip-hop mixtapes.

I would say use soulseek, has a lot of electronica but the queue lists suck. Also wish it had the "multiple-users download feature" like kazaa, but oh well.

if you're looking for dnb or jungle, i've got a hunch that #dnb and #jungle might be good channels to look into.

Prefer Soulseek myself...I just queue up a bunch of stuff before I leave for work...depending on what U're looking for if U just give it a minute or two there's often someone with a zero or low queue as well...

#dnbmp3 - sometimes has bots.

#breakbeats - is mostly for chatting, but most of the ops have really nice sites and if your cool enuff u might be able to get
access.

#mp3-rap - i'm an op in this channel and can help u get most if not all urban .mp3s

check mp3hq.net for the release date and ask around in a mp3 channel, much easier to find stuff if u have the release date.

Kazaalite = great for movies and for porn, bullshiz for mp3s.

Winmx = Good for general mp3s

Soulseek = Good for all kinds of proggies and general movies/mp3s.

IRC = ok if you feel like waiting in queue for something for days on end. There are certian #s that are cool, but all in all, I'm not impressed. Once in a while check up on www.ircspy.com and u may get lucky, but meh.

In the last half a year, I've grabbed more softsynth, sequencing, and hacked sound programs then ever before. Not to mention games, full movies, hell I even have the new Crystal Method already three weeks and its not coming out for another couple weeks apparently. I've grabbed more dnb, dance, and electronica then I could have from all of the above put together..

the answer is DC++, and newsgroups. If you can gain access to shaw's newsserver with a program like forte agent, grabit, or xnews, you will have hit the jackpot. I get 90% of my stuff from there. Just look up all of the binaries (i.e. - alt.binaries.mp3.dance) There are tons of different ones, from games, to music, to movies.

I get my music from there, and my movies I use Direct Connect, which allows access to various hubs worldwide. You have to share a certain amount of gigs to be able to join most hubs, but if you have 10 gigs of stuff to share, you will be home free.

Best of all, is that these programs contain no spyware, they are free, and particularily (with newsgroups) 9 times out of 10 if you request songs, movies etc, people will post them for you. I know cuz I'm usually one of those people.
