I just heard gunshots..1-2 feared dead

After sitting down for a 4am beer and some CNN I was startled by 3 gunshots. I immediately looked out on the balcony and sure enough across the street people were fleeing as 3 more shots rang out. I ran downstairs across the street and saw 6-8 people (some shot, some injured) laying on the pavement.. Cece did what she could to help and assist those who were injured. This tops Loft Six and I'm sure we'll be getting the full story by tomorrow. One guy took one to the head/face, a girl also in the upper area and the rest were body hits. Blood pools formed on the cement and in front of the brothers restaurant. The shit never stops in this town and for a cold, snowy night in 2004 this Gastown strip was lit up like a week old Christmas tree. 15 Squad cars, 6 ambulances and people scattered everywhere. Yellow tape surrounds the area and it looks like a bitter night for the detectives who are going to piece this all together.

Its sad that this city is falling victim to more and more senseless violence all the time.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of all the victims. As for Cece and Lex... I've had to deal with a situation very similar once before and its hard as hell to do it and keep your composure. I commend you for your courage and sympathy..... you did what you could.

^I agree. You guys were very courageous for stepping up immediately and assisting those in need. It would be hard for someone like me to help out with the sight of so much blood (although I imagine that Cece has seen her fair share).

I was in the P.O. last winter for trance night. A decent club and a nice crowd, multi-racial, no hassles, but around 1 am I felt it would be a good idea to leave.

this is crazy, I was about 2 blocks away at Shine and left few minutes before 4 am....I'm glad I got out of the area when I did or else I could have gotten caught up there. Respect to form and kimmie for helping out and prayers going out to the families of the victims and injured. I wish this kinda of crap would quit...innocent people getting caught up in gang violence. The girl who got shot in the head was 100% innocent, trying to save a man's life while he was getting stomped.

its sad to say it, but i've learned from hearing about and seeing shit like this happen, that its best to not get involved in fights or other people's business downtown. i'll call the cops but I'm not stepping in the middle of anything, its not worth getting shot
