Reccomend a decent set of over the ear headphones

I already use a set of B&O A8 mini-headphones and I love the sound they produce but they don't cut out enough noise if I were to listen to music while on a flight.

I tried a cheapo pair of Radio Shack DJ style headphones and they worked great to seal out the outside noise but they sound reproduction wasn't too good.

Question is what is a good pair to use for general music listening in a noisy environment. I'll use them primarily during flights or if I wanted to increase the dynamic range while listening to my mp3 player.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I was told to grab some 700's and they would probably last me a lifetime.

Just wondering is there was some other good options out there or should I just fork out the cash.

actually sony headphones are notorious for their poor build quality

for djing i use sennheiser 280's... they might be a little too pricey but they block out sound really well and the sound quality is fantastic

just for regular listening i use sony mdr v300's... the sound quality is good but i dont know how well they'll block out exterior sound like on a plane

I have a pair of Sony 500s that are over 5 years old and they're still kicking. I also have a newer pair of 700's and the sound is great.

I have a pair of sony 500's as well, I'm pretty happy with them.

I'd suggest getting yourself a pair of 700's, they retail for around $150.00 USD.

I dig my 700's they are still like new after owning them for close to two years now. They are really good for blocking out external sound thats for sure

sony 700's have a design flaw.

i'd avoid them winston, look for something that fits completely over your ear and isolates external noise. that should do the trick.
