Security might be abit of a bitch but at least if somethign goes wrong they're there to help you know?

Its clean, and has washrooms fuck at least its a sanitary environment, as much as a rave can be anyways lol.

Lets also keep in mind that Azim has been doing what he has been doing for about 7 years and Salim for well over 10. Having said that, they have better relationships with all aspects of the city and its different departments --- better that most, if not all promoters in the city.

Other avenues are being investigated.

I think it was during our little random FNK Mc Donalds meet... we were thinking of how crazy a party would be inside SCIENCE WORLD! Seriously think about it. Unfortunatly we realized that there are WAY to many things to break and to much responsability. Just imagine the theatre room in the IMAX place. Wholly shit.. :trippin:

Thats sad to hear....damn the plaza by far is one of the best venues ive been to....they have a chill room which is tite...better than sitting on the floor thats for sure!!! There are many diffrent venues but im sure if plaza does go bye-bye then well they best be finding another place and FAST!!! lmao.....the venue at spooky wasnt to bad...but then again...those benches wernt all that comfortable to sit on when you just want to chill for a few....I dont know lmao....damn.....this sucks....

soma will become famous soon enough
thanks for the info kraig.

The poorest reason for a change like that but it's another harsh reality where the money is concentrated in this city.....

I glad they are attracting more tourists and by building a big resort type Casino it will bring a lot of international acts to town.
This is good but this presents a problem.. one of the few legal venues for late night evens is no longer available.

look at this bickering...tsktsk
the closing of plaza means venue searches and creative venues being used by all types of promoters...lets be serious
theres no stopping plaza shutting down
not unless we get all of vancouver to disagree on it

i think we should move towards clubs as venues personally. Just as Toronto and NYC already has by law.
There are huge upsides to clubs acting as party venues, such as alcohol ofcourse and possibly bigger acts being brought in regularly.

actually i thought your deadpan sarcasm was hilarious... but there isnt really anyway i can argue with your post because this is a matter of opinion... but i am however saying that the plaza is a unique venue and will be missed... and if the owners and shareholders see a pettion has generated a lot of interest maybe they would change their minds as they might make more money keeping the plaza....

no matter how much any raver loves plaza it's going to be turned into something that generates more cash. It's a downtown location, its got great architecture and it has many possibilities. You can't have a building like that and not use it too its full capabilities. To not attempt to make more money off it would be criminal. You can't neglect the cities ability to prosper because it's a really cool place to rave.

man this happens like every year.. there's always the threat that the plaza will no longer hold raves.. its just that this time it seems like it'll actually happen! but dont worry, you'll get over it

I know they've had raves at the Science Center in/around Toronto...although this was back in the early 90s, so I'm not sure if they still do. And if memory serves, there was some party at Science World last year that wound up being a total non-event due to a lack of sales...however, the venue was booked for it. They've also had events at the Planetarium...not the same but sorta similar...

I'm sure that there are lots of other ideas out there waiting to be explored...
