Things that are Unique to the West Coast?

Before you say BC bud I'll tell you what I need and why.

Some of you might know that I'm in the radio broadcasting program at BCIT (first year). We are starting simulated radio stations every week and have a different job every week to do. Next week I am in charge of a feature that showcases places that are unique to the west coast. This week's feature was on grouse mountain. I need a few good ideas...maybe I'm forgetting some good places to check out. I was thinking Fort Langley (because I live in Aldergrove...close to it) but it's only open mon-fri until 5pm--and I'm normally just coming home from school at that time.

SO. What are some places/things that are unique to the west coast?

thanks!

Oh, and not that anyone cares, but the mountain biking in North Vancouver is some of the hardest and uniqe in the world, which completely revolutionized the sport and the way people ride.
And on the topic of mountain biking, Allison Sydor is from North Van, multiple World Cup champ, as is Roland Green of Victoria.
Squamish is like the #2 kite boarding and windsurfing spot in the world, and the Chief is world renowned for it's climbing.

Hope that helps!

HAH! If you saw how much homework I had you'd be trying to get some help too! lol. 90 pages of business/broadcast law to read...another 30 pages of another article to read...the double issue of macleans from last week that I keep procrastinating to read. and I figured I'd get some good suggestions from you guys:). I'm doing the hard work...getting the interview and then doing the production work so it can go onto radio (simulated).

heh. I'll stop whining.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone:) I think it's helping me quite a bit!
I'd like to go up to whistler, but I only have a week to do this and have no time to get up there.

fuck tell me about it, I was racing cross country from 93-2000, and now I'm riding vertical rock faces, hucking 10 footers and riding 6" wide poles 6' in the air. And still shaving my legs and riding road bikes on weeknights ;)
