I fail to see how post-secondary education is your right. There's always a huge need for labourers, not just minds. This isn't fairy-tale-land where everything is going pink. Sorry, I'll be in Univ next year and I'll have to see how I pull it off myself. But this argument does not hold true I think.

^hang on.. what do you mean by labourers? alot of trades people - to land a good job - still need post secondary.
im not denying your post, but a highschool education doesnt get you far anymore. it would be really ahrd to land a job to support a family without some sort of course\post secondary education.
that being said i stick to my origional opinion... bc students have been sheltered, its time fro us to buck up and start paying realistic tuition fees, just like the rest of the world. it sucks we are paying for the governments mistakes, but its not that bad, even with the increases our tuition fees are still bloody low.

I never did say anything about a good job w/o post-secondary. And I agree that to get a good job you need it. But I doubt it that construction workers of long-time McD's employees really need to have any education at all.

all construction workers with the exception of labourers and some helpers need a post secondary education or additional training, but they dont necessarily have to have graduated highschool as you can get certificates and trade school diplomas with out having graduated.

Thought most construction workers have an assortment of different tickets/certifications. For example even if they arent trained as a carpenter/pipefitter/electriction/plumber/roofer/whatever they will still probably have a first aid certificate, a forklift ticket etc and theres multiple different types of these tickets. Even construction workers need to be trained because there is alot to construction that isnt apperent to the average layman. so essentially all construction workers have further training with the exception of general labourers who make at most 12-15 bucks an hour.

^^^agreed

My initial point was about education not being a right, post-secondary one specifically. Tuition fees are different depending on what you're planning to do and what you're attending. And as unfair as it may be to raise taxes and give a higher chance to people that come from rich families to join Univ, I guess not doors are closed.

Hmm I also heard something about cutting down on student loans... anybody know more about it?

^ actually i heard that they are making the loans more accessable and with bigger amounts. and that it will be a hell of alot easier for middle class kids\lower income kids to get them.

when im done college im gonna go get my industrial first aid, and then possibly a trade. industrial first aid can getyou many places, but its expensive to get.... hey maybe i should start a march against the incline of the prices on first aid courses... i mean they should be a right....
