i got a pair the other day :soak: i haven't worn them enough to decide if they're really that amazing or all just hype any other girls got em? are they really that amazing?? anybody know where to get the tradicionals or brazils???

when i worked retail, those were the easiest things to sell.. I think the hype kind of died down now though.. I just remember that they sold well last summer and they were the big thing then, but I don't know about now. They became popular because of something to do with the fact that that brazillian super model... Gisele wore them in public or something and then the media trendified it. (WHY DO I KNOW THIS? Product knowledge :soak: )Apparently though, in brazil they are so cheap that everyone even the not so wealthy have them, and it isn't a matter of being trendy, people just have them because they're practical. So honestly, paying 15$ (I forget how much they cost at aritzia..) for something that's only worth a couple dollars in the country in which they originate, is a sure sign that we are trend-whores..
The reason why most people say they're"comfortable" is because they're entirely made of rubber... so the flipflops kind of conform to your movement... and the bendable arch where you stick your foot in (is it called the thong?) doesn't hurt or dig into your foot because it's a flexible rubber.. they're durable in a sense that they don't fall apart easily (rubber) and don't wear out as fast as those spongy-ones.. personally, i don't think that they're worth the price you pay... When it comes down to it, all it is is just a rubber flipflop. I got a size too big so if anyone is a size 8... hawaiian patterened green and white havaianas...
