lol my dad got one of those a few hours ago, except it said that his email account was being deactivated due to unauthorized access.. and he almost opened the attachment until i stopped him.. damn computer illiterate parents

I've seen that email come through on some poeple's computers at work
But it a little different like this ( Amec is the company i work for )

Dear user of "Amec.com" mailing system,

Your e-mail account will be disabled because of improper using in next
three days, if you are still wishing to use it, please, resign your
account information.

It more annoying dealing with the pissed off users thinking their email is going to be disabled then dealing with the email servers/network probelms as a result of it!!!

ahhh, neat. it takes the user's email domain and subs that into the message body where appropriate.

this angle is actually fairly effective considering that a lot of companies write up their messages in word, then attach the .doc file to the email. for instance, the company i work for routinely sends out ridiculously formatted emails, complete with scripting attached. a message like the above wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary.

though, where i work i'd likely just lose my email account without warning, then spend the next month trying to get it back...

Ya, im getting emailed like one virus a day atleast now, its really pissing me off, luckily my inbox blocks attachments that look fishy automatically.
