possibility of plaza not turning into a casino

well 2day i was laying in bed.. listening to the radio trying to get back to sleep.. wen i heard on the beat.. that apparently plaza MIGHT not turn into a casino.. becuz there was a city hall meeting or sumthin and they said there was a vote made... i dunno im not to sure of the details im really sick and dont remember much.. but it caught my ear.. and also one of the ppl that were supposed to vote for the plaza turning into a casino was sick so he couldnt vote for it.. i dunno... lol.. if u guys kno of anything id be interested to kno... meh i jus thought id be sumthin u guys might wanna kno bout.. cuz maybe there might be a possibilty of plaza being open :trippin: .. that would be good

I really hope it does not turn into a casino.... Vancouver really does not need another one, as well, a lot of big events go on at the Plaza... not to mention some massive raves...

Construction is slated to go early may. which means it will be confirmed no doubt soon.

i would have agreed with you two years ago and to a degree last year, but since the spring of of 2003 not many events went on at the plaza, compared to say 2002 when the summer had many festivals, weddings, concerts, and exhibits like that.

its not being rented out enough no more

that true but the fact is that plaza doesnt have enough events going year round for them to make money. Casino is the only way to go, well 1 of the ways

People need one closer to downtown than going all the way to Ho-quitlam for a casino.

Do u think people living near kits, or the downtown core wanna drive all the way to Hoquitlam to gamble.

the vote was 4-4 beacuse some of the members changed their vote and on eof the key voters was on a sick leave cause he couldn't vote.

they must not think of another vote, and it may post pone the may construction slated to go.

i still think the plaza and the city of vancouver in particular would greatly benifit from the plaza being a casino

they didn't turn it into a vote of no casinos, they just post poned it cause they need a majority vote, and one of the voters switched his vote which he wasn't suppose to.

but the majority of people on this board that are crying the plaza is turning into a casino have only been to a few parties. Pretty much all plaza parties, and the only reason they can give is because of raves.....

i could care less if the plaza turns into a casino or not, but for the city its costly to have it the way it is. I know i work there, and there are rarely events nowadays.
