Virus Help!!!!!

i had or still have viruses/trojans which have disabled task manager and from allowing me to change registry files how can i fix this, an xp cd? does it have repair options on it? Or would i be better off formatting? i think so, anyways its been awile since my last (format) and i have massive amounts of random prgs and shit i dont use. If so anyone got an xp professional cd cause the bt site i use to my files from is
too fucking slow.
