meh.. rods have been around for a long time.. saw something on tv about em like 10 years ago or something... apparently they move so fast you can only see em on slow motion on film or something?? so who knows.

they're bugs.

they just appear to be long because they're blurred. the undulations are merely reflections of light on their wings reflected multiple times per frame. nothing more.

i found a site a while back that went into quite a bit of detail about how they're just bugs. i'll post it if i can find it.
