Mine's $1000, and I got it the month before I moved out (which was in December) and before Xmas...I'm pretty much maxed and still paying it off. =/

I don't understand how everyone can get a credit card except for me... Apparently I don't have any credit?

I guess having all my bills in my name, and property in my name, and a good paying job with a reputable company is not enough *sigh*.

Just increased my visa limit from $2500 to $5000.

It never hurts to work for a bank :)

you can call them like every 6 months or something and get them to up your limit.... last time i called.. theyre like... do you wanna up your limit... im like to how much.... 10k? ummmmmm hell no.... ill stick to 5...
haha...

im pretty good with mine.. i never buy anything on it unless i have money to pay it off right away... its a good way to build up your credit. :)

I had the same problem.. .No credit either. Make sure you apply for one at your own bank where you have a savings/chequing account set up. Otherwise if you apply at a different bank with no credit under your name they have no idea who you are.

i got a $1500 limit on my MC to start with, so suprised.. my income level is damn low too, like just over the minimum wage... Suprised to see it that high

You see, that's the odd thing - I did apply for it at my own bank which I've had an account that has never dipped below quite a large numberears for many y. As well I have proof of employment by means of direct deposit in my account at which I earn enough to qualify for a gold visa.

I was worried that maybe I had bad credit from a cell phone that I had when I was younger or something but no - my equifax came back clean.

It's not a huge deal as I use someone elses to order stuff online when I need to, it's more annoying. They seem to give one to everyone except for me?

I have an appointment with the bank manager for other matters and I'm definitely going to bring it up.

Credit cards are one of those neccessary evils everyone should have. Getting that early line of credit started really benefits in the long run.

So long as you make over $15,000 a year, you're good to go.

However, also make sure the credit beureaus have all the correct information. I couldn't get one for a long time because I was apparently 19 years old for 5 years. :soak:

credit card companies dont make money by giving credit to people who can afford to pay them back.
