monitor alarms at a 'central operating station'

basically i call people and tell'm when their alarm is going off.

it's pretty chill, and obviously get net access. no supervision, that's what it's all about.

Ahh, sitting behind a computer all day isn't all that bad. It can get a bit dull, but with coffee in hand and a plush air conditioned/heated office, it doesn't look too bad as I see the guys below in the shop sweating it out in the heat/cold.

i hated my job hostessing at a restaurant cause WORKING IN A RESTAURANT SUCKS! everyone is so freaking stressed out and really needs to learn how to chillthefxckout. being a hostess, we're like the bottom of the food chain. we have to take crap from the waitresses being stressed out of their minds, from the managers, and not to mention the guests. the servers are supposed to bus their own tables, but we help them out if it's insanely busy and they just won't have a chance. but some of them end up taking advantage of that and leave their tables all the time. so i stopped bussing for the servers who do that...if they don't bus their own tables, i won't seat them and they won't make their tips. it's still annoying though cause the managers will come and ask us to clear them if they've been sitting around for too long. we get treated like we are 4 year olds that don't know shit. we don't even make that much in tips...i think it ends up being a buck or two more per hour once the tip pool is distributed amongst the kitchen staff. gah. needless to say there was way too much drama, and shit went down last saturday that crossed the line. right now i'm either going to go back to school and work at a clothing store (no-pressure sales), or serve in the vip lounge for cirque du soliel.

I hate the job thats ending this week after 3 years because its fucking far, and has way too many responsibilities. i hate it cuz i'm on call plus on the schedule so if someone can't show up, I am the one who has to come in a cover their fuckin asses. i like cooking but i hate being in that hot steamy greasy kitchen for hours cooking hundreds of meals for bitchy fatass white trash customers who complain that they don't like carrots and want a refund. I hate dealing with employee drama, I hate doing inventory, I hate lawyers, I hate landlords... in general i realy fuckin hate the restaurant business.

i love my tutoring job though... alot! haha its so easy and i get paid heavy for it! billingualism WHUHH WHUUTTT!!!

ouch sounds like you had it bad, I was a hostes once at Nandos Chicken, my friend was the boss, we got drunk and high in the freezer put the chicken costume on and danced around in front of customers outside, the hindu people loved it and started clapping.
