Fuck the plaza let's open up the Surrey Public Market its huge underground, parking is free. And we could have the craziest parties there. I have to talk to the commissioner get some funding. Security etc. If you guys have never been in it, it's basically on 64th and king george hwy, its runned down used to be in business like 6 years ago. No one has taken over the lease... Its made of concrete and steel, so its a strong structure for dancing insects. The ceilings are ultimately high, lots of open space, and there are multiple large rooms.

There's an old Safeway building in the strip mall complex on Nordel and Scott Rd. It's been closed and for sale for like 10 years now. I wonder if its gutted..

some of the most fun parties I've ever been to were at Cumberland hall...

Besides, it's not the venue that should make the party at all, if the promoters do their job right, you can usually have a good time no matter where you are!

I understand your reasoning Zynx , but surrey just isn't a safe location for anything in general.

I'd look more into making it either in Richmond ( because they have a lot of open venues ) but more importantly in VanCITY somewhere. If you want to throw big parties, just find the proper venue.

There used to be tons of parties in Surrey. Back in 2000/2001 Surrey was one of the last of the suburbs to be considered "Rave-free" or "Rave-regulated" after Richmond became a bitch-and-a-half to get a permit.

Course, then one of the city councillors got their hands on some "testimonial" of some girl who did too much drugs and as such thought raves were Illegal And Bad (Even though raves are Legal And Good, unlike drugs), and as such went on a Holier-than-thou-not-in-my-backyard trampling of rights and decided to legislate it as well (while making full sure nobody had any other say in it), and Cumberland amongst others died as one of the last Legal Venues in GVA.

Surrey Public Market would be good... lol It's like a 10 minute walk from my House. Although I've been thinking that half of the Big Hangar at the Airport here would be a pretty damn cool Venue. :D

haha that place in is like 4 blocks away from a couple police stations... I think there is a community police station on 72nd and King George and then a compound on No.10 Hwy and 140th beside the Surrey court houses. Agreed it would be a great venue, but a party would never last any longer then an hour or two
