It may have been talked about, but I don't see a lot on here so I'll put it out there. This is sparked by watching the Billboard Awards, where Von Dutch has become the new Fubu... it's been growing over the past few months, but it's stronger than ever right now. Von Dutch is in style in a major way... but why?
I am a big Von Dutch fan, I have been for about 3 years. I'm not an oldschooler by any means, but I've been into it long before it was trendy, that's for sure. I wasn't into it for the cool hats or trendy shirts either, but for what it's really about - his art. Namely, I was a big fan of his pinstriping on hot rods, I've always been a car nut. His paintings are also very inspiring, although not as much up my alley. But the average von dutch wearer these days isn't even into his pinstriping or art, which kind of bugs me. Here's a kicker - dutch was white, and quite racist. Yet you see many black rappers wearing his stuff. Ironic! I just wanted to get the word out on that to those who don't know, so now they will. because they are unaware. they are just following the herd. my buddy bought a dutch hat, costed him 65 bucks. then he wore it clubbing, i guess 30% of the males at the club had the same idea, so from being original he looked like tool. TRUCKER HATS ARE PLAYED!! i couldn't believe how many of them i saw when i went out two weeks ago...everyone was wearing

It's fucking clothes... you guys should go to some hotshops in surrey and get some fake versace.... like honestly... who gives a fuck if it has a big brand name on it.... as long as it looks nice.... honestly.. i would much rather wear stuff from buffalo then to go to boysco and buy a shitload of versace gear and look like a fucking idiot and stand out in public....
unless i was balling and had a CLK.. then it would be kinda different hahha :D

ugly as fuck. played out. oh and did i mention they were ugly? they're all the rage here in toronto amoung the the "hip trendy" fags. they wear the ugliest von dutch hat you could ever THINK of and then wear the newest matching mesh sleeveless tank top from BodyBody. it's really hot. and by hot, i mean fucking gross. -s.

von dutch shit is played out and ugly, if they had style they'd come up with new design, they have one simple design based around a rotation of colours.its gross.
and trucker hats ? what the fuck. trucker hats are strickly for truckers for a reason. its all about the new NBA and MLB new era pinwheels.w00t w00t

i really didn't know what von dutch was till like 4 months ago...
and i'd have to say that i thought they were pretty damn ugly trucker hats. but like many people.. they grow on u. but i would never pay 60 bucks on a stupid hat LOL

I don't think anyone got my point... it's not about the clothes.. it's the fact nobody knows what the brand even is - von dutch is NOT a clothing company. it's a hot rod artist who has a clothing line. nobody seems to understand that, which is why i posted this in the first place. it's not a big deal, but i figure people should know.
ps: i really love dutch stuff, mostly the shirts though, they have dope colours. but i wouldnt buy any of it now, there comes a point stuff gets TOO trendy, and this time it's even for the wrong reasons which sucks

i never have/never will wear a label. it's enough that i'm buying their clothes from them and giving them my money, i don't want to advertise their fucking company on my t-shirt. They have billboards and commercials for that shit. Yuck.
