I went with a friend to prom! It was awesome, I ended up having tons of fun, and it didn't carry all the awkwardness of a 'date' or any of that stuff.

I went stag because I was too much of a nerd and had no confidence with women to ask out the girl I liked.

Now I'm still a nerd but managed to overcome the hump (pun unintended) to be able to fraternize with the foxy ladies. I became a Wild And Crazy Guy.

In retrospect, none of my friends ever helped me out with the whole prom date thing because the only person in my school that was worth dating really was taken.

I just asked one of my guy friends that wasnt in my school to come to my prom last year. It worked out awesome. I think u have a much better time being with just a friend than an actual date. I get to go to 2 of my guy friends proms this year woooot!:D

But ~gods~ a guy, I see what you're all saying about how going with ur friends is alot funner and going with urself etc. However, its alot different for guys I dont think they would go with their friend just because of how people look at it. ^yeah that is kinda crazy. I ended up going with a girl that didn't go to my school. I know they had to ok any guest you brought that wasn't from your grad class...but everyone was approved unless there was an obvious reason why they should not be allowed to come.
