some quotes
I used to write poems when I was younger, but what I really wrote was quotes, then I generally just expanded them into poems. I had written them all on a poster paper, and just recently found that poster - so I figured I'd post them up - Whether or not they're good is up to the reader, but for me, they make my hair stand on end - it's all about wording things you already know, to read them in a new and stronger light.

"I can see in her eyes, Everything missing in mine" "I'd try to walk on water, But I can't get off my knees" "I'm waiting for the future one moment at a time" "I'm so scared of being fearless" "Sometimes I feel like a cat, Trying to pet the mice" "She's an average looking girl, But by far the most beautiful" "There's nothing magical about her, But it sure seems there is to me" "I can still remember how to smile, But I don't remember what makes it worthwhile" "Heaven and hell are the same place, It's just a matter of how you see" "In a world of beautiful colours, Some of us choose the grey" "It's so depressing to finally see, That her magic was never meant for me" "I'm covered in dirt, stains But I don't want to come clean; There might not be anything underneath" "Perfection is featureless, bland" "I never thought I could be so thoughtless, I could never think that much" "Remember every thing she says, One day, only memories might remain" "Nonsense is my reality's only defense" "I'd put myself in a nutshell, And call myself God of Infinite Space" "To tell the truth, I sometimes lie" "I've learned a million times That I don't really know a thing" "Tomorrow is the best day of my life" "After seeing her, nothing else dazzles me" "I'd give a little for a kiss, But I'd give everything for it to mean something" "There's nobody that scares me, But I'm terrified of having nobody" "My only destination is the road I'm travelling" "I don't want to feel a thing, I'll never feel how I felt yesterday" "Where does that look in your eyes go When you look away from me?" "I'm so happy, I'm depressed by all this happiness" "Turn down the light, Now we all look the same" Those are my own quotes.. here are some others that really have an effect on me: "There's a squeaky hinge on the back gate That lets us know when he comes around, But if you've ever heard that silence, Well it's a God awful sound" - Matchbox 20 "I have no need to sleep, but to dream" - R.E.M. those are pretty decent man...
i write a fair amount of poems, and most of them usually have a couple lines that should be quotes on their own. half the time i think the poem would be better if it were just those 2 lines. maybe i should start writing quotes...
