MPs aren't everything, they are only part what makes for a good pic. you can take a shot from my "ucky" DSLR and blow it up to 40*30 on te JPEG setting, on RAW it's even better.

But I heard the new HP 6MP with DOCKING STATION!!!q11! is nice these days :)
They aren't everything. But like I said. 4K for a 4 Megapixel? I'm sorry, but I've seen plenty of really high quality 4 MP shots, and if you're dropping 4K on a body, I'd say get something with a better resolution than 4.

Way to go, Sammy. Long live real cameras!

Oh, and for all the digi-heads, good luck trying to do the things that real photography allows. Unless you want to spend a good US$3000+ on a Sigma SD10, you're basically S.O.L. compared to what Sammy's got there.

sean...nothing is worth working in sweatshop conditions. worst ever.

yea i don't really see how the arguement between digital and film-based cameras even apply in this situation. i'm not into snap shot/nature/lightshow-laser-rave photos. digital might work well for that??? who knows...it's not like i care enough about that stuff to know what works well in those situations. i go to university for this kind of stuff (photography/design) so a 500 buck digital camera from london drugs reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally doesn't have anything on my new camera. at all. in my opinion, half the art of photography is in the film process. i develop most of my own film and make all of my own prints. i like getting my hands dirty. i also happen to like controlling each of my exposures that a basic $500 digital camera couldn't let me do (digital SLRs would but they suck in quality compared to my camera).

so basically...i win.

besides. my hasselblad is prettier than any digital camera out there. bonus points!

I have a Nikon coolpix 4500. 4MP. some great shots have come off of it for sure. On the highest quality setting the files are 10 megs. With the D2h the files are 100 megs in the RAW setting. It is hands down the best DSLR camera in the world. Get over the MP count. it can shoot 8 frames per second for 5 seconds straight. Powers on instantly. I could go on for pages about this thing. Here's a review:

http://www.nikonpro.ca/new/index.esp click on the D2h.

Thanks, maybe I will.

I'm more into mountain biking/street riding. I'm a little indescisive as to what direction I want to take, but I am leaving the country for 2 years, so I imagine I will get some good shots over the course of that time. There's a lot up in the air right now.

if you want, i can ask my friend who does that kind of stuff if he knows of any hookups and stuff. i'm sure they're always looking for new photographers for that kind of stuff.

2 years ain't so bad, at least you'll come out with a skill you can use. I've got Christmas planned in the Bahamas and surfing in Costa Rica, then we'll see where I wind up next after that. I sold most of my shit, just putting everything in those giant tupperware containers. got a place to keep them as well. I can't wait to get out of the country though!

paris would be a challenge (I curse the fashion industry in paris-not that I'm bitter or anything), but travelling round more for the sake of travelling n experiencing different cultures is just as valuable as education in my opinion
