All good events are 19+....BLAH!

I just found out that The Listening Room @ the Planetarium is 19+!!!!
I was hoping to attend this event, for like a year!!!
There have been other events I wanted to attend, but couldnt because of the age restrictions.
Stupid alcohol. They shouldnt serve alcohol there... They should make like a special booth/bar and ask for ID there...at the booth/bar.
I think it's so unfair. I have to wait 2 more years! TORTURE! it's like I've been waiting forever, you know.
Last year Felix Da Housecat came to Van, and I got angry cuz I was underage. This year Felix came back....and I was still underage. I like his music, you know.

the reason places like these throw events that are 19+ is because they don't make any money on door sales! BOOZE sells.. it sells a lot!

if this was an all ages thing, you'd be paying a shit load of money to get in.

and smarten up already.. it's not like it's only unfair to you, you're not the only one affected by it. I was 17 at one point too, I didn't complain.. I waited til I was 18 and got myself a fake ID. Be happy you're not living in the USA where you'd be waiting til you were 21.

Being 18 is the WORST fucken age..especially when You've been legal during travelling! and since I have a late bday everyone else is already 19 or older!! oh well...another 4 months to go! I guess I need a break anyway...but it's still shit.

I hate to sound like an age snob, but just being 17 on the verge of 18 and being able to get away from people my own age and younger is a nice thing, is partially contributes to the reason I don't really party anymore. There's the occasional club night that'll be appealing (currently looking forward to Shy Fx) but for the most part I just don't really enjoy partying like I used to.

Maybe I wouldn't be supportive of 19+ events if I didn't have my fake ID :P

waiting isn't the end of the world. everyone has to wait, it's not like you are being singled out or anything.
just under 4 months until i'm 19 and the only time i ever used a fake id was the da boat party [which wasn't supposed to be needing id, but turned out too] and it was obviously fake seeing as i don't look anything at all like i'm 24.

I'm with Ryanna on this one, the reason I stopped raving was all the 15 year olds who can't handle themselves and you have to walk all over their passed out bodies on the floor.

It's disgusting. The parties 19+ are responsible to a degree, and just plain fun.

Im underage, but still agree with the idea of 19+ events. Enjoy what you have now, live the life a 17 year old is supposed to live. There are a lot of 19+ events in this city that I would love to go to but can't. Right now I just find events that I can go to, I am happy that I started going to raves and they're fun but I'll also be happy when I turn 19 and get to leave the scene to go to clubs. There are a lot of events that are all ages though just focuss on those.
