About Women Studies, I agree with your comments. I stopped the program after 3 years. It started to get rediculous and it seemed the whole class was based upon complaining and re-surfacing historical feelings of oppressions.... which were a little un-necessary and depressing at times. Though, there were parts of the course that really did help me become aware of some of the social barriers for women that still exist today. It was an interesting program, though I agree, I was being forced in my papers and presentations to take a very strong political standpoint that I was not willing to believe in.

I think Men are great. Really. I just often notice people (Male and Female), who may be insecure about their own talents and abilities, abusing and manipulating the term "Female Dj".

I'm done complaining now :P

Let me start off by saying: Nobody is perfect!! Some have different fashion approaches *cough*. A good Dj can always admit to having flaws in their sets or CD's. Even my new Sony700's were stolen and re-sold by a local DJ in my old town of residence.
It's not fair, but you know what, it's fueled my undying passion for this predominantly male sport of "Spinning". The sport and ultimate rush from spinning is what drives us and pushes us to succeed to our personal peak.

Through my experiences with trainspotting, throughout many Dj sets all over Canada, I have been brought to this conclusion:
In 90% of all sets, the successful Dj's had CONFIDENCE, PERSONALITY and INTERESTING SET DYNAMICS. You have to keep the crowd interested. If I get bored after 10 minutes, you've lost me.
I don't care if you have played 20 years or 2 months.
What matters is heart and feelings you put out to everyone. If you don't feel it, I don't feel it. Spinning is a performance and a show. It's a combination of so many elements that are only going to get better with practice, practice, practice.

I encourage all Males and Females interested in starting/trying/buying into the art of spinning to go ahead and just go for it!

Do you think they just threw Oakie up on stage and signed him with GU/Perfecto for wearing his headphones upside down?
Or that Miss Behavin' made it to Ibiza this year, just because she had big boobs? These people worked hard, practiced, played crappy clubs and played over a hundred parties, just to gain exposure.

All Dj's work their butts off, no matter what Gender! Some make it big, some don't, that's life.

Trust in yourself. You can do it.

I think if you look at all the diffrent opertunities and challenges female vs male dj's face... it works out even in the end?

However im still offended by many sad experiences with males under estimating the female race when it comes to electrical equipment etc...

Goning back to her tit show and putting my personal taste and morals aside... well dj'ing is entertainment and I cant argue with that... compare it to many music groups with good looking "artists" with creative flashy costumes and behavour.
