Ok so each week I find something funny and take a picture of it....
This weeks picture is the "Gastown Teddy-Bear Salesman" I couldn't help but notice a man carrying a black garbage bag and a blue teddy bear. He was asking every 2nd person if they wanted to buy a bear. Many people didn't even give him the time of day...it was funny as shit watching this guy ask everyone in sight... If yall wanna new bear be sure and ask the "Gastown Teddy Bear Salesman":026:

Same thing happened to me down by my boy's appt on Davie. Some guy went around asking everyone if they wanted to buy this tin box. It had nothing in it and was a dirty ugly old piece of trash. Everyone just gave him weird stares when he asked. *yikes*

...I kan't sense any humor side of this. On the other hand, I'm sure this dude doesn't wanna have this as his career anywaz if he has the option.... imagine, walking outside with a quite heavy bag on his back and approaching every strangers within his range (vision wised) AND experiencing cold-shoulders every single freakin' day...ain't kool ain't kool.
Remember, not ALL situations are under our control so MAYBE he's the unfortunate one that had encountered uncontrollable negative situations. Who knows? But lets ask ourself this...
Where did he get the bag of teddybears in the 1st place? Lets not kid ourselves and say he bought them wholesale. And secondly you need a permit to sell anything on a public street. I don't buy the "Oh i feel sorry for you bit" but on the other side of the coin some people just have bad luck and I do have sympathy for those people.In fact i'll go out of my way to help them ask anyone {KiMMIe} His aggressive technics are not those of a friendly man but those of a desperate man. Stumbling into your client is evidence that he might be saving up for his next hit, fix or drink. Over and out =) Keep the comments coming though. ....aii, it's always easy to make fun of the unfortunates...WHICH we really shouldn't honestly speaking....nearly everything happens for a reason, despite the fact that is good or bad....all & all is understandable.

Well maybe he's just a shrewd businessman........ you never know. He could be selling those bears like hotcakes and the law would not bother him because they feel sorry for him. How do you know that there aren't any more bears in there??? You'd be surprised at some of the things people buy.

i think everyone is takin this a little too seriously...u don't have to defend every homeless person u know...we know they exist...but people have their own problems and not enough time to deal with insignificant ones like that of others...im sure no harm was meant by the pic...who really cares...some dude was pan handling the other nite out side stigmata and he was askin for change...i gave 2 bucks and he was ever so grateful i shook his hand and wished him a good nite...u can't help everyone..and jus because someone finds it amusing doesn't mean that they are in the wrong for thinkin that...lets not be too serious about the subject u know...ah well whatever..i don;t even know if thatguy was homeless..whatever.. corrie

Anyway, the three best memories I have of panhandlers are as follows: #1 I am going to a club and this guys goes 'Can you spare a $1.25?' I ask why do you need $1.25. Hs says 'That's what I need to buy a beer.' So I give it to him since he was being honest and I see him walk into the bar. #2 I am walking behind this couple when the guy asks the panhandler 'Got any change for me?' The panhandler looked stunned and then proceeds to give the guy the change he had in his hand. #3 (THIS IS TRUE) I guy asks me for some change for food. Being a smart ass I ask him 'Got a change for twenty?' He goes 'Yes' and proceeds to dig in his pockets. So I say, 'What the f&* do you need change for then?' Piss me off. I don't give money to panhandlers unless they earn it in some way.... (Like for instance that dude in gastown who does the hundred pushups on one thumb)
If their just sitting down with their hand out or whatever I just think...why the fuck should I give you MY hard earned money... Im poor too dammit.... I really don't like the forceful ones like some of the squeegee kids that just do your windshield regardless if you want it or not....now that gets me mad.

i don't think the guy in the pictures was homeless?? i mean look at him. his clothes are clean, he looks clean. not saying homeless ppl are dirty, but how many of htem can have a shower everyday? and if he was homeless, where'd he get those bears?!
i think it's kinda funny when ppl do stuff like that.. haha i find it funny that lex was stalking him 2.. STALKER!!! :031: haha but i do have sympathy for some ppl. i remember standing in line at twisted this guy was asking if anyone had money cuz he needed food. meeh and my friends gave him some and everything and he was so happy. it was nice 2 see. and i mean i don't give them all money but this guy was smart. i mean how many homeless ppl would go hit up a rave line up?? haha my bf pointed that out 2 meeh. i don't find anything wrong with some of them needing money and i do give it when i have it. cuz i know if i ever became homeless i'd want some help 2. but some home less ppl just REALLY piss meeh off. i mean yes they are less fortunate then meeh but they don't have 2 be so RUDE! i remember once i was at surrey central waiting for the bus and i had like $2 on meeh k. i had just gone shopping so i had a few bags with meeh. anywayz this guy cums up 2 meeh and he's like "do you have any change" i'm like "no sorry i need it for the bus" cuz it's true. i did! and he starts getting all mad at meeh..saying i'm lieing and he called meeh a bitch and i'm just standing there like wtf..ugh...dumb ass.. but this is getting kinda off topic...so yes i'm out..

Uh...I have a sympathetic gene in me...but I know that I wouldn't buy a teddy bear from that guy...where the hell did he get a whole bag anyways? :047: And if he was representing an organization or something...wassup with the attire???
Buying a teddy bear from this guy would be the same as giving those "Squeegie" guys some extra change for their next drink...Need I say more? And yes...Lex is very "helpful" :031:
