for any of you thinking about going to chinatowns night market you can all forget about it. When night market first started in vancouver around 5-7 years ago chinatown wa the only one there was therefore it was dope. Then richmoond started theirs and chinatowns turned into crap.
kraig - haha u dont have to go with asian peeps. the hongers cant even touch. their just too weak. but i got to say last year when i worked at night market i saw hotties everyday throughout my shift.

few things bad about where they put it this year is the parkin is really bad... ><" i parked like 7 blocks down the road... it takes me 15 mins to walk there, the traffic was bad on the bridge, they have shorted the time... it only went on till 11pm instead of 12am... and THERES SO MANY PEOPLE! OMG! It has gotten smaller every year... ><" the food sections wont even move... so i was stuck there in a huge crowd and i even lost all of my friends... LOL... we'll we kinda got seperated by the huge crowd... common can u find like 17 of your friends all out there seperated?? most of them didnt even have cell phones! YEESH! ><" i liked last years!! ^^ arg... ahh well... who gives... more cheap stuff to buy! mostly fake... but all good! ^^ goin there again soon!

second, i work at the night market and i'm asian so i know a lot more than you and it's NOT knight market. everything there is a knockoff... a lot of people don't know that 99% of the stuff at night market is illegal and most night markets are because you are paying a lesser price than gettin elite quality material. most people that work or shop at night market are asian/chinese so you should get the idea that night market was originated from china/hk/taiwan or something of that sort. spending 60 in half hour is good! i managed to spend 50-60 in 15minutes. don't bother goin to chinatown. take my advice. adam: no i won't spike her fishballs.. can't ruin our popular name yo! how'd u know i sell fishballs. maybe i sell rice rolls. actually, the nite mrkt this year is quite similar to asia's. this weekend proved it with the humid blazing weather. the venue is close to the water so all the mosquitoes and food flies broke out and i saw cockroaches (even flying ones!) at the end of some nights. some stands get busted every year for selling the bootleg cd/dvds. they just hide out for a couple weeks. or they move fast when cops are on the loose that weekend. veebaby - if you think for one second, that chinatown's market is better or the same as richmond's, you're totally out of your mind. cleanliness, environment, product, maybe except for parking - it's all better in richmond and richmond is bad enough IMO. kraig - you'd have better luck workin at a restaurant downtown. japanese girls are KRAIGZY about caucasian guys. i know. all my co-workers are japanese girls (except the boss) and they all (except one) have white boyfriends. Does anyone know by any chance if they would have those oriental paper umbrellas/parasols there?
I can't seem to find them anywhere and for some reason no one has any clue what I'm talking about when I ask about them.

spankme - if you're lucky you'll find it. but you'd have better luck in chinatown around main or keefer street.
oriental umbrellas i understand as umbrellas made of wood and paper ya? or richmond malls - yaohan center, etc. richmond has tonnes of malls you can check out all in one day kuz half of them are on no.3 road and another quarter of them are on garden city.

ty - haha the only reason chinatowns parking is better is becuase nobody goes to the chinatown one therefore parking is everywhere

Thanks 4;20 and e-boy. i'll probably head out to chinatown, because even in malls like metro etc. The more "old school" decor stores, as opposed to more modern ones full of hello kitty and such, still have no clue what I'm talking about.
I remember seeing them inthe windows of import stores downtown but can't remember where they were.
