Tyson fight on Friday

I'm a big boxing fan, but I'm not really feeling this fight. Tyson needs to make the most of the few years he has left and fight the real heavyweights like Klitschko and not waste his time fighting no names from Britain.

I'll save my money for DLH/Hopkins in September.

i think Klitschko wouild work Tyson. figuring that tyson didn't have a chance with lewis, i think Klitschko would win in 5 or 6 rounds, unless tyson catches him with a KO punch, but i don't even think tyson could reach Klitschko with a punch anyways.

Dela Hoya and Hopkins should be interesting

yeah, Mike only really has that big punch left. But with heavyweights, that's sometimes enough. Just look at Foreman winning the title back at 45. The punch is the last thing to go and if Tyson lands clean he can knock out anyone. I agree though, Klitschko is the guy now and you'd have to favour him over Tyson. He's got a good chin, took Lewis's best shots, and he's got heart (unlike his brother).

but foreman was tall. Tyson is short too, especially compared to a 6 foot 6 or something giant?

and yes Klitschko's brother just goes out to punch punch , and has no chin

Vitali uses his jab and tries to play the smart game bby keeping his opponent to the outside until he goes in for the kill

yeah, Vitali knows how to use his height well. He's hard to hit clean with head shots because he's able to lean back and out of the way of shots. Tyson would have to work the body first or else he'd be swinging at air all night.

Yea definetly go to the body to try and slow Vitali down.

Tyson when he was young used to blow people away from the inside out with body shots. Like that big irish dude.

speaking of body shots, did you see that left hook that Arturo Gatti stopped Dorin with over the weekend? Brutal!

Yea i know eh. So much for dorin never being knocked down, not to mention knocked out.

Good for Arturo he is originally canadian too.

fuck Arturo Gatti and Floyd Mayweather JR or Gatti and Kostya Tszyu. Those are both fights I wanna see happen. Either one I don't care.

Just shows that a good trainer, but experience, and great punching power when put in the right combination can lead to excellent things. I think Gatti always had the power, but the right combination was lacking.

He has all the heart of coarse

are you talking about the "Behind the Glory" episode? I thought he came across the same as he always does. They showed how mean he was when he was champ the first time around and how he found religion and completely changed his image after that. Now he's basically a jolly fat man who sells grills for a living.

the entire heavyweight division in boxing is absolute shit, and it's been that way for nearly twenty years now.

It's shit now, and it was shit in the the 80s (except for Tyson), but it was pretty damn good in the 90s when you had a prime Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis, and even Tyson fighting. Guys like Mercer, Morrison, and Golota were decent as well. Only the 1970s had more talent then that, with Ali, Frazier, Foreman, and Norton. Historically the heavyweight division is always the shittiest in boxing.

Right now the middleweight division is getting good with everyone moving up in weight kinda like the new age welterweight division, which had the most exciting group of fighters for awhile.

Some of the feather weights are exciting too, but yes heavyweight fighting is ultra boring unless its a mega bucks fight and nowadays especially there is all but no true heavyweights in the division left.

just look at champions

yeah, right now 160 and 140 are the best divisions out there. 175 is interesting now because Tarver beat Jones. I'd like to see that rematch, and maybe Bernard Hopkins moving up to fight the winner after he gets done with De la hoya.

yea with the loss of jones in the second tarver fight. the light heavyweight division is kinda disorganised right now, but ya i would mind seeing bernard hopkins against roy jones.

i have a feeling this time hopkins will be much better, as the guy is seemingly invincible to succumb to age, but it only takes only little thing when your hopkins age to go wrong

not just that but in the 140 pound all the good boxers haved moved from 130-140. such as floyd mayweather jr, gatti, Kostya Tszyu, though i think oscar should have stayed at 140 not gone up to 160

another two guys at 140 to watch out for are Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto. Hatton fights like a young Roberto Duran and Cotto looks like he's the next Felix Trinidad. There are so many good fights they could make at 140.

Williams shoulder muscles are way bigger than his neck muscles, at least tyson is more proportionate. 265 is pretty big thats like klitschko's size except vitali is a giant lean machine
