a lasershow instead of fireworks..

so i was up in penticton on the weekend.. apparently there was some festival going on called peachfest. every year they have fireworks... well this year.. it was a laser show.. if u went to IMF (this year) and saw the lasers in the mainroom.. this is exactly what it looked like.. it was so weird

the whole time i was thinking.. this is not right... you can't ditch fireworks for lasers.

hmm..whats ur opinion..

fireworks come once a year, you can look at lasers by starring into your cd player.

They do something similar at The Planetarium here in Vancouver although it is FAR different from Peachfest. They will have laser/lights shows (indoors) and have some sort of music playing IE: Beatles, U2, Rolling Stones, etc...

When I went to Disneyworld like 6 years ago they had a huge Laser Light show over the water at Epcot. It was pretty neat. Definitely more than just a plaza laser.

Yeah Peachfest!!

I was there this weekend too. I go back home there every year for Peachfest. I heard about the laser show but wasn't around to watch. I belive I had dipped into the sauce by then.

One thing you have to consider when you're talking about the Peachfest fireworks is that if you have never seen them before you're not really missing out, and if you've only ever gone to watch the 'Symphony of Fire' sized shows then you will be sorely dissapointed. I give them credit for thinking outside the box and trying something new.

Either way... peachfest rocks my socks.... despite the shitty weather we had there on Thursday and Firday.

they probaly used lasers instead of fireworks because of the dry weather.. too much of a fire hazard

Yeah the weather didn't cooperate very well at the beginning. I ended up staying late on Sunday so I could spend some quality time with some friends and some beers at the beachs and river channel. I envy you for going back there this weekend. The weather is so much nicer now. I have to wait 3 more weeks before I get a week off for holidays so I can go back... I hope the sun is still shining then. Have fun this weekend.

.... oh yeah, and yes I think I did meet you at Shifted... through James.

imo i wouldn't watch a programed lazer for an hour, although with the dry weather i can see the need not to put on fireworks, it is still a good idea

i think a massive lazer show in place of fireworks would be a good idea, myself.. the fireworks generate a lot of pollution.. and plus, lazers will attract attention from nearby spacecrafts.

i'm looking forward to the listening room. video feedback is wicked..
I was at the first listening room..
