anybody else watch the canadian womens water-polo team upset the americans 6-5.... they went from a four goal deficit to winning in the fourth quarter. that was fucking exciting.

see our problem is that the canadian olympic committee made it harder to qulify for team canada so you don't have the underdogs like simon whitfield from 2000

Seriously i bet some should be olympians are at home fuming for not even getting the chance to compete. Just because of stats and number. Seriously all it would take is one mistake at a meet.

this is our problem.
we're so bad... at everythign else.. that we're relegated to cheer our water polo team... whom of course are 1-2
losing to hungary...

like i said... we can only wait for the world cup of hockey...
at least we stand a chance at finishing in the top 3 or 5

^ i agree summer games are just not are thing. Not enough money, training goes into our teams, and when it does the C.O.C decides to get picky.

Hockey is something almost every kid can learn in canada, and is emphasized when growing up.

Its a shame because canada has like just as many people as in australia but australia kicks our asses.

the thing is we bitch and bitch about no funding...
but... look at it this way.. how can the stages fund their atheletes? they don't give free health care...
in the long run what would you prefer to have.... canada winnning medals? or free medical?

for us to get a medal.. the athelete has to absolutely love the sport and devote everything to it.. their own time, money, limited coaching... the list goes on...
if anything... there shoudl be a lottery that should help out our athletes.. whether it be a scratch and win card or anything... it would help eh?

True free health care is good, but in all honesty a little national pride isn't that bad either.

We could put a little effort into ou r summer games efforts, and lighten a little bit on health care for abit can't we. Or get taxed i'm sure if people knew it was going towards training for our athletes they wouldn't mind as much,
