You're an idiot.

I've been watching my little brother for years, hit his computer when it makes noise. All he needed to do was take it to the garage and blast the fans with compressed air. Instead, he hits it.
He has now killed a 20G hard drive, and a 40G hard drive.

Electronics don't respond well to violence.

my TV behaves well when I hit it though... from time to time, the picture starts to move down the screen, and all I have to do it hit it really hard, and VOILA! ;-)

Doom would have to disagree with you. Viiolence is a perfectly acceptable way to get a computer, or any other device, to work.

Such methods have worked in doom's favour for years.

It is a mistake to allow any electronics to know you are in a hurry.

For years I've believed that the reason many computers misbehave is not so much a flaw in hardware or software, but the lack of a well-developed sense of self. This can only be achieved by giving the computer a worthy name...

Hmmm. This should be a new post.

Violence has worked well for me as well. I was a Network Admin/Hardware Tech for 3 years and my friend and I tested the ruggedness of numerous pieces of Computer Hardware. From Macintosh Races down 3 flights of Stairs to The Great XT 2 Storey Free-fall... Name some Hardware, it's either been thrown at me or mangled in some fashion. The Macs that we threw down the stairs only needed their RAM replaced and to be plugged in again. :)
