wooohoooo! art supply shopping is the best! i did a quick 15 min run around opus on friday and i gathered up tons of goodies, next stop is loomis tmrw! exciting! megs, have you checked out the west 4th loomis? which one is better? main or 4th?

(the leatherbound ones) i picked up purse sized ones for $3, and a couple more that were a tad larger for $4. they have cheap paint on sale, and personally with school projects i dont mind getting the cheap kind if im gonna be painting over the canvas later anyways. ink was pretty cheap, paint thinner is on sale. mostly its a canvas\sketchbook\odd ends kind of sale. which is still completely worth going to. i baught things i didnt need - and im probably going to regret but whatever. its so bloody cheap. i had to get a 4 foot x 4 foot canvas for a painting last year and called around for the cheapest place to get a pre-made cause i was on a tight deadline and opus wanted $108 and i had to order it in, loomis had it on sale for $45, in stock gallery style. its so bad ass there it makes me wanna cry. i could live in loomis. im going back next weekend for more canvases as the car could no longer hold anymore without damaging them. even their regular prices are cheap for canvas. but i will say that they dont carry quality acrylic, the best they have is liquitex. which isnt too bad, but i find too expensive for its quality. oil paint as well, not so grand. i would stick to opus for paints. but drawing utensils are pretty cheap.

i dont know my paints AT ALL. i bought some awesome sketchbooks at opus few days ago for 6.40. they were 160 pages coil 6.5X 11 hardcover books. such a damn good deal. i need to stock up on pencils, drawing tools and good drawing paper. gonna sell all my photo equiptment this year so hopefully ill make some money to splurge on other artsie goodness. gonna check out the west 4th store tmrw and see what they have. i personally love opus cuz we get a school discount there and its just a run across..so convinient, the place has saved me so many times.
