Good places to take dates...

So.... I've been curious? Where in Vancouver (or outlaying areas) can one get good sushi, propa chinese, ramen and other specialty food items in a respectable environment and resonable prices? Help appreciated.

for the chinese what type are u thinking of? theres a huge range of chinese food.

for jap. iono daimasu is avg and has normal prices. they have a after 9pm special i think and its decent.

a cool idea if its warm is to get some takeout or make some food and go to Vanier park. My friend matt took me there four years ago and it was incredible!

other than that, i have no idea. I just got here on Saturday from Calgary.

i take dates to the airport.

the airport is rad! so many interesting people, so much emotion, coming going, buisness type-a's, backpacking college kids and a starbucks right smack in the middle of it all!!!!

and theres a restauraunt were you can watch the planes take off.

really, just walking around the airport is a wikked way to get to know someone.

ive also taken dates to ikea. for real that place is cool too, though one girl joked ''john, i think its a little to fast for us to buy furniture together"...

and now that im single again...many more interesting date spots are comming back to me........ladies?

there are soo manyt things to see and do in this city!

Joking aside, the best place I've found to take dates is "The Afghan Horseman" on Broadway. They rule - make sure you get a reservation for the pillow room. Awesome food, enormous buckets of alcohol, dim lights, seating on the floor on cushions, very romantic. Chicks dig it.

Right near Cambie Street. Google says 445 West Broadway.

Make sure you get reservations in advance, or you might not get to sit in the pillow rooms, and those are worth the effort!

just walk down robson st. you will find a lot of ramen places. lots of good japanese places, sushi and tapas places.
