somethings up with my computer
my sister is always downloading spyware and free casinos and garbage like that so my computer is just flooded with pop ups and tons of other shit.
i am going to reformat and start over now since she moved out but now i am trying to copy some of my data like pictures and music that i wanted to save but my cd burner wont read a blank cd. i can put any other cd rom or audio cd in and it works but when i put a blank one it it says: D:\ is not accessible Incorrect Function i can take that blank cd out and put a game in no problem though. i am wondering if there is some sort of spyware or perhaps a virus that is making this happen as a way of not allowing me to keep my files on cd's before i reformat. anyone else been through this before? im gonna be really choked if i lose my mp3 collection and pictures. thanks

yeah i think you're trying to use the built-in windows burner. not exactly sure how it works, but i dont think cd's come preformatted.

Dude you need a burning software. Do not use anything other than Nero (the best) for burning cd's. Other software programs are glitchy and get buffer underruns. If you want to clean your PC it can be done real quick where you won't have to format at all. Try like Carrie sadi Adaware and Spybot. Too great free programs that will detect and remove spyware and bs stuff you don't want.

i will try to format the cd's with that nero program.
i have tried adaware and spybot and all this shit and there is a program that is spyware called winpup32 and you can get rid of it because it reinstalls itself everytime you delete it and reboot and it crashes your computer when you delete it so you have to reboot and trust me i have searched the net and tried everything i cant get rid of this one. i think its doing the most damage. i will give nero a shot though for sure. thanks

Dude winpup can be fixed too. It's not easy but it can be done. Basically it infects your registry and rewrites a few things just to piss you off. There's tons of places online that you can find info. Hell it's a microsoft breach and I think they have a remove procedure on thier website.

download,
adaware & spy sweeper, run them multiple times, and also in safe mode, dleete all the crap. then go to ad/remove programs and remove all the junk, then run both those programs again, then run a anti-virus program, and you should be set.

UDF? Why do that... just use Nero or some other such program like everyone else says. I wouldn't trust Windows internal burning software as far as I can throw my Tower, and that's pretty far.
