I don't know about cutting everyone's karma down. As the Admin, you should have the ability to peer into ones profile to see how the karma was earned in the first place. If someone earned it in a bogus way, then I agree, cut them down. If they earned the karma legitimately, then don't.

Also, if you do a "karma audit" and discover that someone is abusing karma privillages IE: giving friends karma for nothing, then also cut them down.

Instead maybe limit the amounts of posts a person can whore up in a day, or the amount of threads they can start.

Don't cut anything down.

Just implement some sort of temporary karma super abilities accessable by anyone who say, posts a certain response to a certain thread or something.
I dunno.
But the karma thing's too silly to just cut down, I say take it a step more in depth instead.
