inexplicable/birthcontrolpill>>>> HAIR LOSS:

I'm 19, it's not that time yet. (though I have gray/blonde/red hair mixed in with my blacks)

According to the guy that did my hair today, I've had patches of hair loss in certain parts of my head that I never noticed for about a year. I have a lot of hair so it's impossible to tell that they exist. He showed me one of the patches where my hair was missing, and it was like a diameter all around. It was kind of funny but nasty. I also have these parts where my hair is significantly shorter than other places. He said that I'm regrowing hair in those areas, but that the "hair loss" must be due to stress or something.. and according to the length of the hair growing back, he said I probably lost it around a year ago... I can think of too many stressful people/events that occured about a year ago.. but I also read somewhere that it may have to do with using birth control pills...

I've NEVER noticed ever losing hair, mostly because I have too much hair for it to be noticeable.. (thankfully) it's not like I ever woke up to finda lock of hair on my pillow so the process must have been gradual....

Anyone else ever get unexplicable hair loss?... perhaps, bcp related (ladies?)

My mum has patches where hair is missing too, most likely due to stress (which she has a lot of). She didn't know until her last visit to her hairdresser.
But thankfully, like you, she too has enough remaining hair that you can't tell.

I was on Tri Cyclen for two months, during those two months I had to cope with an increased appetite, mood swings and nausea among other things but not hair loss specifically.
I've heard that Diane 35 is linked directly to hair loss, there's been a lot of controversy over that pill because apparently it does miracles for your complexion but it's really bad for you in other ways.
I've also heard that it's not good to be on oral contraceptives for a prolonged period of time, it's good to take breaks. Have you been on the pill for over two years without taking any breaks? Also what pill are you currently taking?

this really has nothing to do with this except for the birthcontrol thing

I read that some lady in the sates sued a pharmacy company cause she got pregant despite using contraceptive jelly she bought there. But she ate the JELLY on a piece of toast.

i feel sorry for that baby

Yoko, it's most likely from stress. I HIGHLY doubt that it has anything to do with your bc.

My former assistant manager from Off the Wall had the same thing as you - she was under a lot of stress and had patches of hair missing. She, too, had super thick hair so you couldn't really tell, but she lost some along her part and so she had to move its location.

I suggest you pay a visit to your family doctor, he/she will be able to tell you faaaaaaaar better than any fnker what is wrong with you, since last time I checked, none of us was an MD!

I currently don't have a home doctor :( But yes, quite true. If I were that worried about it I'd have visited the doctor by now. But luckily, the hairdresser said that the areas where it seemed I had lost hair have grown back..

And for those who are talking about being bald, I'm NOT BALD (YET) OK!
