but if i went back and wanted a cheap starters table, i'd get Numark tt200.

Is Tom Lee an OK place for rentals, prices etc? Not many other stores in the valley. Last time I was there the prices looked OK.

Hows about Peavey for amplifiers? There's a store I know has a PV 1200, new unit but a discontinued model. Seems a reasonable price at C$500. 2 x 450 watts into 4 ohms.

masterplan says all their slutted used gear.

its not that cheap though so you're better off hitting up pawn shops and private sellers.

I also sell gear but mostly new.

the best thing to do is find a friend that has decks, and go over and try. if you decide u do wanna stick with dj'ing buying "beginner" gear is just a waste of money since u will eventually want the good stuff.

exactly what i was going to say...don't bother buying shitty equipment, if you ARE serious, then buy the standard (technics) cause you'll want them.

if you want good cheap equipment check out the message boards and notice boards at record shops, or go to long and mcquade and check their rental sales department and buy a used set of 1200's...

or if you can get me akeel's address i'll sell you a set of decks and a mixer (not sure what brand/model yet) for $300
