I love Shabusen because they let you have all you can eat sashimi. And the spicy sauce they put on the hot stuff is SO YUMMY! It's like hot and sweet and perfect. And the one on Granville has mussel motoyaki. *drools*

if we're talking about FOOD and not caring about the price then its NIKKO on robson right beside burrard...

if we're talking cheap prices and still decent food I'd have to agree with Myra, however the Ichibankan I speak of is located on west broadway about 3 blocks west of cambie

my all time fave is still sushi king in marpole and my new discovery.. sushi go by the body clinic outside of granville island. yummm.. but for cooked japanese food prob gyoza king or gu?.. i think thats the name its on burrard and robson tucked in the corner, hottest japanese cooks ever.

its all about the little sushi restaurants because they're usually more authentic.

^^u really can't sit there too long to wait cuz the oil smell goes right up to ure brain. but the combos are huge and so yumyumyum.

1). Shirubay - Chop stick Cafe in Yaletown - its like sex, but in sushi form
2). Tojo on Broadway.. mmmm custom dishes
3). Blue Water Cafe - in Yaletown (I'll take you there when your not busy ash)
4). Nikko on Robson

Shiru Bay in Yale Town = Favorite new place

Shiro at 15th and Cambie is a less expensive Tojo's

Daimasu at Broadway and Cambie for happy hour. $8 pitchers of beer and carzy deals on food after 9pm

Happa Izakaya on Robson has awesome fusion tapas-esque food. Definately something to check-out if you want something OTHER than sushi that's SO good.

Isami Sushi in BBY its a very authentic restaurant that doesnt serve your day to day cali rolls cucumber rollls etc..
