This just in...
I was just informed by one of my Friends that Yasser Arafat has just died. Oh shit... Israel must now be asking "Excuse me, why are we in this Basket and where are we going?" Your thoughts on the repercussions of Arafats death.

man, they've been saying he's dead/alive for days now. no one really knows because he's friggin' wife isn't allowing the hospital to release information.
when he does die there's going to be a big thing with where he's going to be buried.

I don't know whats going on with this either and don't care too much. Today at noon they said that he's pretty much dead all his organs are like not working except his heart and brain or something... ? I dunno...but I guess he could have died from than till now

i know less about this than i do about other things, but my understanding is that this will mean a surge of even more instability in the area. arafat never named a successor so there will be conflict within the party, and the fight for the gaza strip and west bank will probably turn a new corner. it is likeley that further trade and resource restrictions (including water) will be implemented by the israelis in an attempt to drive out the palistineans and violence will escalate even further. this is one of the most violent territorial battles going on in our world today. i think that time will reveal arafat's death to be incredibly significant in the al-aqsa intifada. this is no small event by any means.
