Remembrance Day Accident

What a sad day on Remembrance Day.

There was an unfortunate logging accident on the TransCanada Highway in the Upper Valley (Taylor Way & Capilano Rd) this afternoon. The logging truck was zooming westbound towards Horseshoe Bay and lost its gear. The logs spilled over the highway onto the eastbound traffic and hit 5 on-coming cars. Two died, and three injured - one with life-threatening injuries. All traffic ceased on both sides of the highway.

Traffic was mayhem! (I know... I was stuck in it!)

Prayers go out to those who lost their lives.

My sisters boyfriend Grandma was in this horrific accident. She was right behind the car that was completely demolished. We went to go see her in the hospital last night and aside from a very bruised body and whip-lash they think she's okay but still have a lot of testing to do :( She is alive, and very lucky. My heart goes out to everyone effected by this accident.

unreal the effects of this tragedy i always think what if? when i drive beside those logging trucks...

i was stuck in it on my way to work

30 min. late for work..

had to detour all the way through north van, traffic was insane.. even at 11pm on my way home the highway was still closed... they were just getting ready to open it up again..
