where do i get a BC ID?

unfortunate events have caused cracks to form in my drivers license, so i decided that instead of waiting for it to finally break in half one day while i'm trying to get into a club, i'm going to go and collect another piece of ID.

so...yeah, where do i get a BC ID? how much do they cost and how long do they take to get?

also, if i want to just get another drivers license do i have to take some form of test or anything? i haven't driven in a year and a half and would likely kill several old ladies. please keep this in mind.

Yeah, you just need a birth certificate and a carecard or something- just bring as much ID with you as possible! :)

Birth certicficate and passport would be perfect or passport and carecard. something with a picture is better to bring./

jake if you have your bcdl that counts as a piece of id :)

it costs like $40 i think and the lady said its like 4 weeks to get mailed out and proscsed!! its cheaper and faster to get a new bcdl

It's a form of insurance I guess.... we have universal healthcare here. Everyone geta a carecard and a carecard number. You present this card when you have to go to the hospital or doctor. They use it to track your medical records and such.

Technically you are supposed to pay for your medical coverage which is really cheap to be honest. Most employers provide it though. The thing is that no one is ever turned away at our medical facilities..... whether you've paid or not you get help.

I'm not sure what the cost is of a visit. I've never had to pay for a visit directly. Like I said... we pay our 40 a month or something like that and we go to the doc as much as we need to.

For most people where the medical is provided by an employer they pay like 20 bucks a month for medical premiums.

whoa dude, without my insurance it costs me over $100USD to go to jus see the doc, without n e meds or treatments at all.... tis fukd up

We haven't really got it that bad up here, but a lot of people feel differently.

I actually do work for the ministry that administers the universal healthcare in this province. A lot of people like to bitch and moan about the system, but I'd like to see them try to survive in the US!

it's amazing, I've been working with the system for about two years now and I still have faith in it. haha!

Yeps. I got mine. I don't remember how much it costs. I think it's anywhere from the $20 - $40 dollar range.

On top of that you need your birth certificate i think or perhaps your driver license will do. It takes about two - four weeks.

yeah dude, like i had pnuemonia a lil while ago and had ta get antibiotics.. fuckin cost me $50 bucks... like wtf... i coulda bought penecillian at a fuckin grange animal supply store.. and get some from there.. its the SAME FUCKIN THING.. .ugh...

Jake - ICBC driver services.
You've got a choice, get a replacement license, which they won't test you for, runs about $75 i think, and will get to your place in about a week.
Or, you can get a BCID, which is cheaper ($35 or $40 or something), but will take a lot longer to get to you (they took 7 weeks with my sisters before :\)
