World events lately

I'm not really into politics.... but i do like to keep up to date with world events... and how i felt really bad for people living in countries at war... it didn't really seem so real till now.... it was just shit you watched on tv... and i was just thinking about sometimes there is controversy about how american troops treat citizens and such at war.... i was thinking about places like haiti.... and how the military people there must act at wartime....

either way.... i've taken living in canada for granted :) damn it feels good to live here :)

You hear this misconception all the time.. drives me up the wall.

People have ALWAYS been fucked in the head. Not just "now a days". It seems more messed up in modern life because we have a thin veneer of civilization glossing things over. But it's still the same as it ever was.

cuz wen i was little i never paid attention to it all,
or i was too afraid to even care.

edit : i hadta add in the 'not'.. cuz i didnt notice it wen i wrote it.. running on 2 hours of sleep does that to ya sumtimes.

That's seriously fucked. There are a lot of fucked up shit that goes on that we barely notice. I remember studying about this guy (can't remember his name for the life of me), he was from here in BC. He was a serial killer, I think the dangerous offenders act was established because of him. He sexually assaulted his victims, which were teenagers he gave rides to from the streets. He was eventually caught, and the police had to PAY him I think $1,000 per body so they would find them.

He was incarcerated, then at one point, they decided he was doing fine so they gave him phone call privileges. So what does he do? He calls the parents of his victims and gave them a detailed account of how he tortured their children to death. Sick.

Finding out about this guy just adds to the fact that there are a lot of seriously disturbed people out there.

I think it's a good thing to be aware of these things, but it's bad to let them get to you too much. The world isn't all hearts and rainbows, but it's not all fire and brimstone either. You just gotta look at the bigger picture and take into account both good and bad.

We once had to read a case study on a 5 year old being sexually tortured by a 10 year old. That course is just fucked up. I dropped it.
