Bertuzzi pleads guilty, no sentence yet

NHL star Todd Bertuzzi pleaded guilty to assault Wednesday, reversing his earlier plan to fight charges laid after he slugged an opponent with an on-ice sucker punch. But lawyers for Steve Moore have asked for a delay in sentencing so Moore can give a victim impact statement.

It's still bullshit though.
Anyone who has played organised sports understands. From hockey to badminton, if someone fucks with your captain or goalie it's game over. period.

on the radio it said he did it for the good of the team and burke n what not... because he if not they would asked all the canucks what was said in the locker rooms at intermission n what was said on the bench.......... if that gets said the canucks as a company could undergo a shit load of investivations....that is what pratt said on 1040.... on the way home from work :)

The thing about the whole thing is, there is not proof that Bert caused the injury. Doctors even mentioned that on the news when if first happened in March. Half of the Colorado team doggy piled on top of them. It easily could have been one of them. Bert could've just given him a good punch and a push, and people get hit from behind all the time in hockey, although this one was a bit different. But.... theres still no proof.

The fact of the matter is that he instigated the brawl with use of excessive violence.

His Sentence was part of his guilty plea thats how a plea bargin works he pleads guilty the crown council cuts him a deal in this case a year probation 80 hours community service and he can't take part in any sporting event with steve moore and for that matter can't be near him either as for what morre lawyers were bitching about it was that moore was not givin a chance to read his victim impact statment in person cause he and his lawyer were in toronto and having the right to read said statment in person is part of the criminal code of canada really I think moore's lawyers are just looking for grounds for a re-trial to make or brake any sorta civil suite thats why one has not yet been launched

P.S. look for a Bertuzzi reinstatment hearing from the NHL soon after a drop dead date for the NHL season on the 14th of Jan by the NHL Govenors
