and if so...how much was it? and where did u get it done?

I heard whitening your teeth weakens the enamel? Although I have not done enough research in this area...

I would be interested to hear comments from those who have....

If you go to the dentist, they will most likely tell you to just use a home whitening kit. The active ingredient in most of the whiteners has been linked to certain oral and internal cancers. Links don't necessarily mean it's true, but do some research before you go ahead and do this.

I know someone who is a dentist (endodontist, all he does is root canals) and he says there is some risk that whitening will damage the teeth internally, eventually causing toothaches (maybe when you're 40+), and they will need to be fixed by root canal. But he says it is not known for sure because whitening is a new thing.

If you need a root canal, it's expensive, painful, and kills the tooth (it will never be the same again).
