Club Nations Venue (Plaza of Nations)

Just curious why no one has booked this venue for any party/events since Lange (that I am aware of). It's really a nice venue and setup with the two rooms. Is the capacity two small? Too expensive? The only didn't like was dancing on carpet, I prefer hard slippery surface. The massage thing was "interesting"

Oddly it doesn't seem to be the BUSIEST of Venues....you would think they would want to price it more competitively to actually get it rented from time to time...such a good location for access/transit too...

club nations isnt used that much by the plaza. im not sure whether or not the plaza is using it for the new casino or not since i havent worked there in a long time.

As far as I know its not being used for the casino. Christmas party was held their this year ^

Ah man I wish I went to the christmas party. Those were some fun parties.

The manager or plaza doesn't care to have events there unless it is worth it to him. Plaza is more of a land investment then a confrence venue.

I like that venue... it was really cool when lange was here. the balcony, 2 rooms, a lobby... i dunno, it was just a nice change of scene.

Good point up there. ^ It's a shame that many land owners simply just hold onto land / venues for the pure investment return of them. Selfish or just smart business sense? That is a matter of opinion; and anybody's guess. In the end (or the present) it really just damages all that we call atmosphere in our city. In many cities / countries this stagnant use of land or venues is strictly prohibited by government. Not in Canada though. Shame.

I think the venue price is a little pricey (even tho i don't know what the cost is). If the cost of the room is too much, and the capacity is too small, it's hard for promoters to justify risking the money it costs to throw a party if the pay back isn't going to be worth it. Permits and licenses are probably pretty expensive and difficult to acquire also. Even the parking downstairs is expensive. I imagine that the people who are too cheap/broke to pay cover probably won't wanna pay for parking either.

its bullshit, but if you allow a venue to get used... itll recieve plenty of use which will be "worth" in the long run....better to get some money than nothing
but its their venue...so its their choice...bah

The plaza took our money when we were raving as kids. Now they're taking it while we gamble as adults. Good Grief-

Is club nations the OLD casino underneath Plush? Or is it the space thats above it?

becuase the elevators go down to the parking through there :p

Lange was a fun show no doubt, shame it wasnt as big as we had hoped.
I think that was mosty likely the first/last Union all age event :(

Club Nations is the space above plush. It is where the Queen stayed when she came here for Expo. There is a bathroom in the corner that is almost all marble. It is used every now and then for graduation events and Business events. But the Manager does not like Raves in generall so unless it is really worth his time he will not do such an event.

Last i saw everything inside was done. The only t hings not done are outside. Like the entrance is not finished. There is still chunks of broken concrete everywhere, but all the slots etcs are all filled inside.
