salons: perm/curl

I am thinking of getting my hair done pseudo curly, currently my hair is dead, straight. Has anyone ever gotten their hair permed? Where is a good place to get it done?

I was passing by Chinatown and they have like 50 salons that charge only $38 for a perm, but I'm worried it'll end up looking like an 80s perm. :|

MY aunt always gave me my perms when I was lil'so I can't recommend a place but just make its more then crystal clear on what you want :)

You dont wanna end up with a curl.. that you dont like.

you can wash the perm out of your hair if you don't like it.

just have to do it right away.

I can't advise you on a good place for a perm cause I've never got one. good luck!

just last month my sister wasted $200 on a bad perm..she did wash her hair and then went and got it straightened..
perms scare me..

im scared of perms my mom gotone and her hair lioke friend and broke off, it was 3 years ago and theres still like inch long chuncks

gawd, the older hair dresser's at my work do perms.. (cuz the younger ones dont like it)

and everytime im sweeping floor or shampooing sumone's hair..
i can smell it... and i wanna puke..
and wen im shampooing sum1's hair.. and the sink next to me is being used to remove the perm shit.. i wanna die.. like seriously.

when you find a salon the best perm to use would be called ISO.. it can be used for blondes or color treated hair...(assuming you have color or blonde )ISO is avery popular brad but not cheap either..but worth it.

DO NOT color ur hair first!!! wait a week or two after..plus make sure ur gonna start using good shampoo cause if you dont you can ruin ur perm and make it go super frizzy> i dont know if ur aleady know any of this ..just thought i could be some help...

ooh, i'm gettin my first ever perm on friday.. i'm heading to James Blonde (corney name i know) in Poco, they're pretty professional there so i think it'll be ok. they charge 80+

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO dont DO IT!!! i swear to gawd every day i wish my hair was FUCKING STRAIGHT. i wish wish wish... but no... it has to be all wavy n cirly at the bottom... blacchhhhhh

yeah dude, but with my hair, i cant do EITHER.. its like ringlet curls wont stay, and it wont stay straight either.. thats why it sucks.. el SUCKO.. MUCHO EL SUCKO

Im lucky my hair will do what I want it to, I just hate havin to take the time to do it cuz Im slow at doing anything to it... hairs too much of a hastle:(

update: i've successfully got my hair permed on friday. apparently it looks good cause ppl have been asking if i straighten my hair. most ppl say it looks natural.

stabby, if you're still looking to get it done Andrej is good at what he does. though the place is in poco (dont know how far you live)
