i don't care much about weddings (ima dude) but what my cousin did last year really impressed me. she went to Ireland and did the wedding in the ruins of an old monastery near the coast which had the remnants of an old chandelier where they hung candles, and in the rest of the place they placed those little candles that you see in cathedrals.

the whole ceremony was candle lit with some larger torches, and was done around twighlight. anyone who's been to Ireland knows how really beautiful it is with the emerald green isles and the rolling hills. the ceremony itself only had about 100 people or so, and some band was doing a live rendition of Sigur Ros' "Njosnavelin" (it's that song at the end of Vanilla Sky).

Not too much pomp and ceremony and speeches, but it was very intimate and yes, even "magical." It was a nice juxtaposition to see two young beautiful people getting married in the ruins of this old structure. there was also a reading of a poem about love being eternal and outlasting the world and to see these crumbling viking age structures around us and the two lovebirds was a great metaphor that perhaps was intended.

It was very nice to sit in there, but at the same since it was missing much of the roof you could still see outside to the ocean and the roaring surf. the best part was it wasn't cold.

the whole thing played out like a wonderful drama that you were a part of with the music, scenery, ambience, and just everything. it was all very touching *sniffles* :(

It'll be on Long Beach by Tofino at Sunset. My Chopper at the side so I can fly to Wickaninnish Inn for some Honeymoon Maddness!

The ceremony here will most likely be at Stanley park or up near ubc if I can find a good spot - early Sept. You can have a wedding anywhere outside (almost) for free as long as you don't set up any chairs etc and it's under 100 people. There isn't much I can do about the set up - I'm thinking i'll have everyone attending holding lights/candles. I'll think of something. That's a great idea about just having the reception which I will consider, but I would love a ceremony here during sunset :)

My Mom's making all the wine :)
Awww... bootiful? Can I come? I'll hum the "here comes the bride" tune. I don't know, but TLC has some cool wedding ideas that are pretty cheap. Their creativity on that show blows my mind sometimes.

I have no connection to the church, so I think the whole "union under God" thing would be pointless. I've been to weddings that seem like Sunday Mass and I think I would probably give the priest a wedgie after a few minutes of that.

So no church. A beach would be nice but I and my family are more connected to the mountains, and something about being able to see forever in all directions while making the vows really does something for me. That and her hair in the wind.

Of course this is barring her approval, whoever she may be, but I suspect that this will appeal to the type that I'm after anyways.

I'll probably end up with a catholic wedding, as well as, a traditional korean one.

Lots of glamour, lots of drama, lots of hours in uncomfortable shoes, lots of bow'ing.

Traditional costume below. If you're extragavant, you can arrange traditional "fan" dancing (I used to do this professionally :) ).

Altho my family would most likely prefer me to get married in a church, it's never really been what I had in mind.
Something outdoors, lots of candles, and a select group of my closest friends and family (I've never been one for huge weddings unfortunately I come from a huge family tho so I guess it'll have to be something to take into consideration) and of course a white dress (most likely fairly traditional)
Its not something I plan on doing for a long time, but when I do I want to make sure it's perfect.

wow, i've had this planned for like years...

its going to be on the beach. i love spanish banks!! with the white chairs and everything,

i always wanted a blue wedding dress, since i was like 14. i didnt know that the white was for purity, until my sister told her friend i wanted a blue dress, and he's like 'why? is she a slut or something?' but ya, i still want it to be blue!! probly just really light blue. and both of us will have bare feet.

my favorite flower is gerbera daisies, so that will be my bouquet, just a few with the long stems and stuff...

i have it all planned out in my head. i could go on forever about it.
and dammit, it almost happened too, i started buyin all the bridal magazines, puttin together all these ideas i wanted to do...
but whatever, it just wasnt meant to happen.

^ That's my fave flower too! You've got good taste girl!

As for my wedding, it's a toss up. I know it won't be anytime soon, so I've got loads of time to think about it...

I might want to get married in a hot and sunny destination, on the beach, and have a super honeymoon in that same place, and then to come home and have a big party with all my friends and show the video or our wedding on the beach.

Or I might want to have a big wedding, preferably outside, with all my family and friends. Some traditional elements, some personal touches. And then to have either an outisde party (in summer) or have the reception at a nice country club or something.

In either case, I'd wear a white dress... But less fancy if it's taking place on the beach in a tropical place. Mmm...I want to go to another wedding soon. They are so romantical :027

I can't wait! Next year...omg I get butterflies~

My hunny is gonna wake up on a day that he thinks is gonna just be a normal weekend, but he's gonna see his suit and NEW socks and undies hanging with a note. He'll read it and realize it's our wedding day, have a mimosa and eggs flourentine made by our chef friend, walk outside to his chauffered limo with a laptop playing our slideshows, go to meet me at a spa, where we'll be pamperd to death.

We'll hop in our seperate limo's cuz he can't see me in my dress or smooch me until I'm all messed up before the vows :) The destination is prolly Banff, in the mountains alone on a huge quilted picnic blanket surrounded with black rose petals. Black roses will be the only flower cuz the color is so rich and the rose itself is such a strong symbol of love. We'll have the ceremony, no priest just me and him saying our vows. The Chateau is gonna be filled with candles and he'll light the fireplace just like every night. But I won't cook dinner;P

God, that makes me soo horny;P

i want a traditional wedding with a twist. im not religious at all, so having a wedding in a church just doesn't feel right. i want a beach, garden or backyard wedding..but still have the aisle to walk down. i want a full on puffy princessy white dress..full works. i want EVERYONE to be there. then the reception to follow my roots it would be fusion food or something....and id be wearing a chinese dress, something no so flashy and tacky. but just to make my parents side happy. depending of how much money i have etc that will decide the honeymoon, i dont even care if its 2 blocks down teh street.. as long as im celebrating my love with the man im happy.

yikes...
