American Dad
anyone else watch this? if u like family guy youll love this show

The humour is pretty much identical to Family Guy, although I thnk the stupid German fish could go. The alien was super funny!!
I think the series actually kicks off as of May sometime.. and soon after we get Family Guy season 4!!! CAN'T WAIT!!!

it wasn't that funny. i watched the first half, and it was just like family guy. y dont they just make more family guy, and not some new show that's exactly the same?

Here's the story w/ American Dad. It is the same group of people producing it as Family Guy (Fuzzy Door Productions). Its been in production for just over a year now I believe. It also had a fairly low budget which is why the animation looks a bit sketchy and why the primary voice actor (who also writes and produces the show) is doing about half the voices (You may recognize his voice from Family Guy, ie Peter, Bryan, Stewie). It was pitched to Fox as a slightly tamer version of Family Guy. Family Guy was yanked because it was too controversial for the stupid network. But now in this age of wardrobe malfunctions, etc, etc they can do pretty much anything w/ a cartoon. When this series was pitched to Fox, the Fox executives actually said, whatever happened to Family Guy? That's when Fuzzy Door Productions got the go-ahead for a new season of Family Guy. Apparently, they're going to go ahead and run this show for its course (14 episodes or something) and then replace its timeslot w/ Family Guy.
Honestly I like American Dad; Some of it was admittedly deja vous of the rye humour found in Family Guy, ie intermittent flashbacks, the character of Bryan the dog replaced by an Area 51 alien and the psychotic baby Stewie replaced by a German former olympic-skiier turned fish. It was still a cool show though and it'll definitely help tide me over until new episodes of Family Guy begin airing.

I wasn't that bad but it was alittle too close to Family Guy for my taste......it's almost like they tryed to do somewhat of a spin off.....I mean take a look at the daughter in American Dad and Meg in Family guy....they look almost the exact same with just diferent hair......I think I'll stick with family guy but I'll watch American Dad a couple times.....it's still some what funny
